Exclamation Gowens Memorial Random Doubles January 23rd

After talking with Dave O'keefe we decided to have a Random Draw Doubles Memorial event to help raise money for Monroy's Family. Every little bit will help out JenniMarie and family in this time of need. Hope to see you all there.

Saturday January 23rd, 2010

Dretzka Winter Course

Sign-in 11am parking lot

Fee $20 per person

1 round of 21 holes

Random Draw Doubles - Best Shot (bring a mini)

Open Division - top 3 teams paid in cash

Am Division - top 3 teams paid in merchandise packages

I'll see if we can maybe head over to the orchard inn after the round for payouts/awards. I keep you posted.

I like to thank Uncle Joe for helping me out putting this together along with his donations. If anyone wants to donate anything for the event would be greatly appreciated.

Take Care,

Josh

Good time, good to see everyone, and great to see such a large turnout!

Thanks for putting this together, Josh. Nice job!

I agree, great turnout and I was very proud of the fact that all of the proceeds went to Monroys family. That was an awesome touch on the part of the organizers (Thanks guys). It was about having fun and helping his family. I only met Monroy once in my first tournament ever in disc golf last winter, and was glad to be a part of this event, unfortunately under these circumstances.

Default Gowens Memorial Random Doubles

What can I say.... The parking lot filled up fast as I was taking entry's. We had 66 players in the event but well close to 80 people show up to pay there repects. In the end we took in close to $1500 which all went to Monroy's family..

Thank you again to everyone that helped out at the event and helped with donations for the event.

Open Winners...
1st Mike Wondra & Jason Stamm -15
2nd Zac Cobus & Henry Poth -14
3rd Mark Kaltz & Mark Peterson -12 Won Tie Breaker

Am Winners...
1st Andy Gasiorwski & Jerry Hamill -4 Won Tie Breaker
2nd Chris Dibb & Josh Cleveland -4
3rd Tim Kieffer & Jim Dietz -3 Won Tie Breaker

All winners received a M X G dyed disc. I had quite a few people ask me if I can make more. Yes I can. There $20 each and a portion of the proceeds will go to Monroy Gowens Memorial. Just send me an email josh@widye.com

Words can't described how much Monroy was missed. But the actions of everyone that came on Saturday showed just how much he effected our community.

This is just the start. Dave O'keefe and I are working with Monroy's family on getting a pdga sanctioned memorial event in Monroy's name down the road. We will keep everyone posted. Thanks for your support.

Take Care,

Josh
