First flight impressions of green Ridge:
Very comfy in the hand. At approach speeds, a pretty darned straight flyer, but I felt myself wanting a little more HSS & a little less LSS to get the laser-straight flightpath I was craving. Much closer to VP than Summit in overall flight, but tends to hyzer-fade where the VP just drops straight out of the sky. The softer X-Link really shines for putting. It seemed to agree with my slight anny touch putting style & I made more than my share of 25-40 footers. Distance control was a little sketchy on longer 50-80 footers, but (for now) I attribute that to unfamiliarity. A good ca$h finder, with three Tiki aces on the night. ![]() More flight impressions of green Ridge: There's definitely a "sweet spot" there for a beeyooteeful arrow-straight 180-foot approach, but it is tantalizingly small. A little too much snap & it'll turn over to stay & a little too little & it'll gently hyzer out. For me, that "sweet spot" seems to lie right on the border between a firm huck & a touch shot, so it is hard for me to dial it in. For putting, I'm really liking this disc. The softer X-Link material allows for some sinking in of the fingers, which I really need for good putting touch. It seems to have good carry, as I was making 35+ foot straddles all weekend & leaving none short (my go-to miss normally). Very confident on <20 foot shorties. Don't think I missed a single one <16 feet all weekend. |

Yeah the feel itself is great. Think mine was frozen for awhile, but now its great. For the most part, Id echo what you reported, I felt the same way and have been throwing them all together. I was hoping for a more straight finishing disc. Havent had a chance to rip it real hard yet. Really like it so far as a putter, but these are lighter than Im used to and I tend to be babying it a bit. Sticking a little better in the chains it seems. I like it though, even the light ones.
Id say it falls in left center more than center field.

This is the one for me, I'm using the gray firm version and it is what I've been wanting all along. Keep in mind I'm only using them for putting only. To me it gets carry like a dx aviar with the stability of a lightly seasoned kc aviar. A very affective putter at all ranges, its straight with a slight hyzer fade that's predictable. I've tested all the vibram putters and this is a must get, you wont be sorry.

I just got my ridges, putted a bit, and threw a few approaches from about 80-100ft. I like the flight as a putter even though I had a hard time finding a consistant release (much more flat than my preferred KCs). The ridge is nice as an approach disc and seems to sit nicely. I loved the disc for sidearm flick approaches, big anhyzers are money with the ridge. I look forward to getting them out to an open field.
When do you plan on working on some mids? The shape, feel, and flight of each putter leaves me drooling at the potential vibram has to make some amazing midranges. Thanks, Chris Waugh |

I took to the fields and was pretty impressed with the overall flight of the ridge.
I have a dark green 174 and a black 173. The green is a bit more overstable than the black. Hyzers stayed hyzered, throwing flat kept it straight, and anhyzers floated softly holding the turn. There is a bit of HSS that keeps the disc from getting flat from a hyzer release or rolling over when thrown flat. But of course if you crush it over it will turn. I was getting into it and couldn't get much of a straight, flat flight from a hyzer release. It would come out hyzer, hold the hyzer line continue straight and fall off at about 250-275 without much glide. Throwing flat and out, not over, kept a nice straight controlable flight about 265-290. If I let it go a bit early it would finish on a slight hyzer angle. Never rolled it over. Big distance line anhyzers are fun with the ridge. The disc can handle some torque, not as much as a VP but it will continue over and straight easier than the VP. Trying to get some distance out of it I was throwing high with plenty of anhyzer angle. Both discs would hold a consistant turn fighting to flat as they slowed down ending around 300-330. I did roll the black one over once but it still tried to fight out. I loved the disc for touch sidearms. Very, very easy to control. I haven't spent too much time putting with it but the few times i did putt with it it flew well. Held a line well with a good LS come back. Pop it out flat or a bit anhyzer and it will come back at the chains. Not too shabby. Anybody looking for a consistant putter should check it out. |

If testing keeps going in a good direction, these should be released in the Spring.

MIDS, BRING ON THE MIDS! A faster version of the ridge could rival any midrange on the market, and in the Xlink plastic, my goodness. Please, please, please, bring the mids. Thank you. |

Speaking of awesome plastic (or, rather, rubber), I just received an unexpected package in the mail from Vibram containing a Summit in a prototype of what they call "X-Link Soft Eco" rubber. It is as flexy (if not flexier) than my beloved "rubber vomit" VPs & is possibly the grippiest disc I have ever felt. Smells like a tire store. I'm gonna go hit the Tiki links this afternoon for an extended testing session.
Just sitting here at my desk holding & flexing it is giving me a semi. If a blend such as this makes it into production, y'all soft, floppy putter fans are gonna LOVE it. |

Thx. Wife has brushed golden ring of exactly same shape. As the photo shows, it could use a touchup (being over 12 years old now & in a hi-abrasion area).

I went out and threw during my lunch break today and found that I had difficulty seeing my proto green Ridge. I was throwing all of the proto discs starting with the XP, then Ridge and finishing with the Summit. They were all landing where they should be in their stability but I kept having to take an extra few minutes to locate the Ridges in the grass. Even though I knew about where they were. I throw a lot of upshots with my putters instead of using mids and I may find this aggrevating in the summer having to constantly search for it when the Kentucky Bluegrass is really green and is about the same color as this disc.

The disc that Veganray has is sick! I used to throw SSS Wizards that I had beat into almost a floppy putter. It took a lot of work to switch to the Summit from them. I would love to try one of those eco summits.
I have an old Nerf frisbee that I can fold in half like that. Crazy understable as I can almost get it to barrell roll if I throw it high enough. |

Here's a vid review of all 3 discs. Sorry for the bad camera angle and not being able to see the full flight.

i definitely want an ECO Vibram disc. Currently in love with the rubber/plastic on the softer ridges.
Hey Vegan, I also have a tattooed wedding ring. I've never seen anybody else with one, until now. |

That's part of the deal. Marriage off = finger off. I'm quite serious.
