Why can't we have both? The biggest problem is the terrain around the metro areas that have couses. They're all flat. We can get some holes in woods, like blackhawk but overall we don't have too many choices and opportunities to have courses with woods and elevation. Even the lodge isn't tight when comparing to the courses back east or in the northwest. I do agree that learning on tight courses can make a better player but Dale is right about the wind. Those tight course players seem to struggle on some of our courses if the wind is up.
I think Tulsa offers a great variety of courses. From short beginner to the pro courses. Black hawk can still wreck some great players. Just think about how far you would have to drive to find the variety we have. It would have to be at least 4 hours in any direction. Just compare what we have to OKC. While they have a few good ones, they don't have the choices we do. You would have to go to the Dallas area or KC to beat what we have. As long as places like Cali, the northwest, the east and the michigan area have the courses they have, they will always produce more top golfers than we will. we just need to play them in the wind. |

I came back from Worlds with a mission to develop courses with woods and elevation.
Playing KC showed me a couple of good things about my game but it also showed some big holes. Rosedale Down Under was brutal for me. Cliff Drive has 9 holes that are very similar. Honestly our best bet is get Copperhead polished up. The elevation isn't as severe as Rosedale but it is the best I know of around here. If anyone has anyother areas in mind let us know. To truely be the ultimate disc golf mecca we need an east coast type of course. As to Dale's question, the fact is we need a steep woody course to make our core players better. Not every course needs to be suited to casuals alone. Just my opinion...

I threw a brand new white star boss in the pond at hunter from hole #14. Yes that's right hole #14, it turned over on me. If you find it, it is yours... good riddens to it.
Cris Hicks PS - This does not apply to any of my other discs people might find

Rats, still no Dragon or R Pro Boss, guess that is what I get for just putting my name in the rim and not all over the back like I die with the Speed Demon.

I lost a blue Special Blend Orc (Buffallo Stamp) on hole 15 at Red Hawk (left in fairway) and a tie dye (sunburst) CE Valkyrie. Both discs have my name Cris Hicks written in cursive on the bottom.
If found I will give a reward or buy you a disc of your choice. Cris Hicks 407-7904. |

So the day before the OO I am putting at the house. When I finish I always take the basket to the backyard and go back to the front and throw a few blind putter shots. So I spike hyzer all 6 of my bangers over the house. My newest and most favorite never showed up.
So here I am looking in trees, neighbors backyards (more than one occasion) and I even climbed the two story house from the rock fireplace outside. Nope not their either. So today i give it another shot look in my backyard and then the neightbors again. climb a tree to get a better view. Nothing.......I am about to give up when I noticed the trampoline has been moved since i last looked under it. And sitting their like a long lost treasure in 2 ft of grass is my baby ! Got my banger gt back so now hopefully I can do what I could not last week. Putt ! Only took a week to find something that was in my backyard the whole time. The End. |

Lost a CFR Wraith (Blue) on hole 15 Island course. It was down by the water's edge, but not in. It was the last hole Saturday and too dark to find it.
