Thanks for coming as well Scott. for those wondering the N.H.D.G.C. just purchased and planted a beautiful Leyland Cypress tree at the second corner (by the basket) of hole 12. Myself, Scott, DP, Rudy and Chi all pitched in to plant it and it looks great, tree must stand around 10 or 12 feet. and with a little luck will be there for a long time (fingers crossed praying). thanks guys for all the help

had a great meeting today with the county Parks and Rec. i now have another contact in the parks dept. and had some great dialogue on how the county can assist us in the Hole 12 erosion project.
We now have a pile of mulch for the azalea, the county did a great job of pulling alot of dead limbs from the rough on the front and back of the course, and we will be receiving another pile of sand for hole 12 very soon. Good stuff guys good stuff. |

June 6th Workday 9:00 a.m. is when the fun begins
1) Hole 1 Tee pad project - build up the front of the teed pad to minimize the drop off at the front when following thru. - we will be building a frame and filling it with silk screen then sand the crushed rock 2) unclog the bridge over number 6's fairway ditch 3)spray the bases of fairway trees to retard sucker growth in fairways as well as spray the poinson ivey growing down by the ditch on hole 8 4) take a look at schule on the left side of hold 9's fairway and TTrim if needed |

Been so busy launching a charity for I helped start haven't had a chance to get on here or make it to any meetings etc. Wanted to say hi to all of the NHDGC and I haven't quit the game. LOL Would come to workday but the charity (www.amped4acure.org) is the charity for the COM festival (carolina original music) at OGDEN PARK saturday, so have crew coming from out of town to help with it....if anyone scoots out of doubles come to the festival.. bands, pizza "slice off" coolers allowed etc. (ibxpromotions.com has more info) but I am sure the course is looking great, we have a great group here. Will see you all soon on the course!

we got rained out saturday so we have rescheduled the work day.
Come join the fun at 9:00 a.m. this Sunday Dec. 13th. We have a load of dirt to use so we should get some stuff done. on the agenda is 1) adding a new section to the retaining wall on hole 12 2) Try to repair the tree on hole 5 3) some light trimming to hole 8 and 9's fairway's (if we have time/people) we will need some tools for sure. 1) Wheelbarrows 2) shovels 3) a ladder 4) Posthole digger 5) brute strength / ignorance we will build a new section of wall as well as backfilling the new and existing sections on hole 12 and that is the focal point of the work day. so if we can get some people out we should be able to knock some stuff out. We have a HUGE workday this Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
Hole 12 will have 40 feet of new wall added this Saturday I am hoping to have a nice big turnout to make things go smoothly We will need Shovels, Hammers, Saws, Rakes and wheel barrels and hopefully alot of man power. Hope to see everyone there. Also stick around afterwards for a shot at the number 1 bag tag at the 2010 Bag Tag challenge at 1:00 p.m. Details will be posted tomorrow and there is a flyer out at the kiosk |

HUGE thanks to the people that showed up this past sunday to get things done.
Rudy Drew Price Figgie Smalls Moncreif Clay and chi We moved around 4000+ gallons of water off Holes 15 16 and 17. There is now a vast improvement to these holes and with a dry forecast for this week i am hoping to see a big improvement by this weekend. Rudy is tentively trying to organize another workday this weekend to continue pumping water off hole 15 behind the basket. he may rent the submersable pump we used this weekend again to continue the process. if anyone is interested let us know. I would like to have another workday in march but with the jacksonville tournament the last weekend of the month it may be hard. stay tuned for details i will let everyone know what is going on as soon as possible. Thanks again to all that showed up you guys are the best!!!! |
