I thought this would be an interesting thread to start. I got the idea after Christian left me a message that he aced #2 today during a tag match with Beetle. No details but a great shot and tuff ace indeed.....so let's hear about those memorable shots & putts, any course, any conditions, there all good.

Forgot to post about the ACC crosstown trip with D-Tuck & BWD last Sat. After a practice round w/Kirk we tagged it up at Chapel Hill. Tuck slammed in a 80ft upshot for deuce on #10 to start a great back nine battle. I threw a perfect forehand to deuce #18 and hold #8 tag by one.
BWD - 57(E) MonTTy - 59(+2) D-Tuck - 60(+3) Went to Kentwood near NC State and tagged it up there. Had a nice 50 ft Russler on #6 but the shot of the day was some kid still in his LL uniform and cleats slams an overhand shot in for an ace on #10. He runs screaming all the way to the basket. It made my heart sink. BWD - 44 MonTTy - 50 D-Tuck - 53 Oh then we emptied our bags on #1 and on the 47th try Tuck splashed total chains with a flick but got spit out like a peach pit

In dubs, Chi put one in the field on 11, so I went for it. Threw a firebird down the gap(almost pin high), but we missed the put.

Nice....I recently got my first duece on 4...straight on 50 footer. Now I just need dueces on 8 and 15 to complete the course.

I saw the shot DP was talking about, it was about a sixteenth of an inch low but dead on, it just went BOINK, it was close, by the way, I almost deuced 15 in the long once, it hit the chains off a skip and I ran around the corner to see it sitting on the ground...so your superhuman a s s could probably do it, but deuceing 8 I think is pretty much almost impossible unless you hit a perfect backhand cut roll 500-600ft...off the tee! (or get sneaky with some sort of pro-route)

I saw it go around a corner, was waling back off the tee, when 270 ft. later.. chains. I was just happy somoene saw it.

I surely hope you mean hole 14 at Reedy. I can't imagine anyone aceing 15 but I've hit the chains on 14 myself.
I bet it's a pretty super feeling to ace a hole... |

even though my play overall was pretty week this weekend here are 2 shots that i could not believe went in
1st) Hole 4 at the thrill is now a 666' par 4 that is a pretty basic 3 if you throw good shots. you tee from the left side of the fairway which is old hole 3's tee pad but it is pushed up about 30 feet to give you a clear look at the fairway. i threw a driver in a tail wind and failed to stand it up so it hyzers out of bounds about 300' up the fairway on the left side. i had an awkward lie with a few limbs hanging in my way so my up shot was center cut but still around 75' short of the basket. lined up my jump putt. threw it popped up perfectly and BANG circle 4 save. Rudy and narehood where behind us waiting to drive on the hole saw the whole thing 2nd) Hole 20 was a beautiful dog leg left par 4 where you tee downhill to a landing zone then turn 90 degrees left and throw straight up hill (40' up hill around 210' of distance) to the basket threw a wooded fairway with an opening that is less than 30' wide. sawed off my drive went in the left side woods early. i pitched up into the woods to get a look at my upshot. i was still at the bottom of the hill now on the right side of the fairway lookin up and 190' or so out. up against a tree all i had was a flick. pulled out the trusty stable Z wasp with the intent of if nothing else not coming up short. throw it hard and high and stay up at the top to have a putt. flicked it stiff and BANG in for my birdie 3. holly cow it never left the basket on line the whole time. shot like crap but had 2 miracles go in. thats why i keep coming back |

Hijacking this thread...
I've been playing Cedar Hills for 15 and half years. The course is 5 min from my house - I play doubles there every week. It was the first course I ever played. Basically...I've got a few rounds in there. I did something tonight in doubles I have NEVER done there - I eagled. Never an ace at Cedar Hills, and well, still not one, but I got my eagle. I 2'd hole 18 (my drive, my throw in) from about 250. Buzzz down the fairway, aviar in the basket.

I have always thrown a midrange off the tee - it guarantees I am in the middle of the fairway. Its a very tough three if you hyzer out early.

After nearly 10 years playing I finally got the first ace today 5/8/11. Joe Eakes Park in KB, @6:30 pm, Hole #8 a high anny with an XD. I let it go, turned to Miranda and cupped my ear...Cha-Ching. Legit, first throw, great day.
