Won't be there this weekend (Victoria), but will probably get out there on a regular basis.
Thanks Larry!

Thanks for doing the map here Tony!
![]() I like pictures a lot! The Hampton road route looks very straight-forward. I'll be running that route on Sunday after seeing this map!

No problem. Hampton keeps everyone from getting lost in the subdivision. I don't think I've ever made it to Neal's house (on that map, along with Nez's house) without making a wrong turn.

I believe you. For some reason I am compelled to drive right past it at least once before stopping.

Wow! I was kinda worried that there might not be much interest in a mini down there, but it's starting to seem like there might be a few more folks interested in playing it than I thought. Even one of the North Battalion regulars is coming down for it!
I'm encouraged!

Driving all the way up to the North side that early (for me anyway ) in the morning is prohibitive. But holding this at QVCC in my back yard means I will probably become a semi-regular.

You should be handicapping me T-Dogg!
![]() May I take it that you are voting in favor of running Mulligans out there then? ![]() See ya on Sunday morning! I'm really encouraged by all of the buzz with folks saying they're coming out this Sunday...or next. REMINDER ABOUT DRESS CODE: Neal has asked me to remind everyone about the QVCC dress code: Must wear a collared shirt, and no cut-offs or "raggy" clothes. (As a personal favor to me - please don't put me (or Neal) in a position where we have to tell someone that they can't play because of the dress code. We want everyone to support Texas States and QVCC.)

Many thanks to all of the volunteers that turned out today to install the baskets on the Links course at QVCC!!!
You folks ROCK!!! ![]() I can hardly wait to kick off the South Battalion edition of the Commando Mini in the morning!!! I think I've got everything all set to go! Weather is looking to be OUTSTANDING tomorrow morning! Hope to see you out there.

Many thanks to the 15 players that turned out for today's opening of the South Battalion Commando Mini!
We had 9 in Open, 3 Int, 3 Rec. I'm guessing that there were somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 discs lost out there today! (I had 2 the first round and 4 the second round! )The new course is VERY challenging. The name of the game out there is course management - lay up and take an easy par upshot or risk the water hazards for a deuce! Travis Greenway shot a 52 to take the Open division today! Nice shooting Travis! ![]() If you get there early enough, you can rent a cart for the round for $10. I highly advise it. The second round on a card of 6 played almost twice as fast as the first round went!

hey, I believe you are allowed 4 per card, (cough cough)!
I played on a moffitt rat card of 8-10 and it took a while, but enjoyable to watch others loose disc.

The Commando Mini - South Battalion will be running on Sunday this weekend. (I'm still checking to see if Matt Stillwagon will be running the North Battalion.)
If anyone is planning on playing in it this Sunday, please let me know. I'm going to be there, and I have a confirmation that at least 1 other guy is going to be there! ![]() 9:00am is the starting time. Please plan on getting there about 10 minutes early if you want to rent a golf cart. I usually park at the QVCC Pro Shop, rent a cart and then drive the cart over to the course.

Bit by bit, and dollar by dollar, I'm pleased to announce that thanks to everyone that has supported the Commando Mini over the last year have allowed it to contribute $1,000 to the 2008 Texas State Disc Golf Championship (April 5-6th) !!!
I will continue to run the Commando Mini at both locations for the coming year thanks to the other volunteers that have stepped up to keep the torch alive! Matt Stillwagon has been backing me up at North Battalion of Spring Valley and Neal Dambra/Eric Jubin have agreed to take over running the South Battalion at Quail Valley! (Holy smokes!!! Can we double the Texas State contribution next year??? )Hope to see all of you out there at States this year!

Starting this Sunday, April 13th 2008 I will be back at Spring Valley running the Commando Mini again.
A * H U G E * shout of thanks goes out to Mr. Matt Stillwagon for running the Commando up there while I was down at Quail Valley. Thanks Matt! I hope to see all of you folks at Spring Valley on Sunday at 10:00am. We can talk about moving it up earlier in the morning if there is any interest in doing so. As the days get longer and hotter, I think we'll all appreciate an earlier start.

I just spoke with Neal Dambra and he will resume the South Battalion version of the Commando Mini in two weeks. He's suffering from major exhaustion after States last weekend.
I'm encouraging everyone interested in a little more competitive action this weekend to attend the North Battalion edition of the Commando Mini at Spring Valley.

I'm all for an earlier start time.
Also for starting closer to the posted start time...at least sending all the players to the first tee by then anyway. See ya Sunday...are you starting a 2009 TX. States collection? Great job on the donation - it really added to a great payout this year. |

Thanks for the feedback Alex!
I'm more in favor of like an 8:00 or 8:30 start time...although because we play the finesse course, we're in the woods (and shade) most of the time... Come on gang...I know you read this! Pipe up!

We had 11 out there during picture-perfect disc golfing weather! (Open x 6, Int x 5)
Wow! It doesn't get much finer! I sure hope the South side had as pleasant of an inaugural 2008 opener as we had on the North side. ![]() The Ace Pot ($106) was claimed by Erik Soete with a laser-beam drive on Finesse #17 - 401'. Way to go Soete!!! ![]() Texas States fund: $11
