Has anyone thrown one yet? I'd love to hear a good description of how it flies, and how it compares to a star or pro wraith.

Hmmm. Sounds cool, but if its nothing more than just a faster Wraith then technically I dont really see the point.

Buy up all those Destroyers so that when only 65 people show up for U.S. Masters, we won't have to split all that fundraising inclome with very many others!!!
Mua-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-HA-HA-HA-HA!!!!! Come on you old farts that always complain about the old farts not getting enough respect: start making plans for Ole Man Nationals. Old broads should come out too. The entry forms are up on the U.S. Masters website. |

call me crazy, but i don't think disc golf stores are much better. they jack up prices by like 75% some places. i know you have to make a profit, so i'm not complaining. i just sell discs too so i'm not one of the people being screwed
. and i should probably point out that dgdave has a disc golf store, so it's not like this is any different than normal business. you guys are acting like he's stealing. he's just buying discs for more than he would normally buy them in an attempt to make a bigger return. it's just business. kinda like if he had been selling generic discs before and now he's investing in designer discs or something (replace the word disc there with anything involving clothing in a department store and you understand everything about the clothing industry)

I'm sensing a little frustration that Dave has a little extra cash to throw towards an investment and you don't.
Why dog him for trying to make a buck??????? Sniff, Sniff, Sniff.......I smell jealously! Wish you thought of it first? |

RFB, you have a point about stores jacking the price, but I think the store is not the source. Have you seen the "minimum sale price" that manufacturers publish on their discs? Innova has minimum prices that they require stores to retail at. That's the problem. Sammler stores need to make more money to keep themselves going until they are established, thus they ask more than teh already high minimum retail. I haven't seen any minimums from Discraft, but I just bought a ton of $5 discs for a tournament (Discraft Tourney Specials ROCK, the prices on custom stamped discs are better than misprints!!!!) and hope I don't plan on seling them at some high minimum price.
It's plastic ya'll! We're paying to support other events, special tourneys, set-up fees, and research. Otherwise we'd all be buying $4 premium plastic discs.

I wont call you crazy, just stupid. "Jacking up the prices..." Lets see....considering that NO DISC GOLF DISC ON THE PLANET sells for the MSRP Id say we are doing what we need to do to survive. Obviously, you sell discs out of your trunk or on the internet as you dont understand what an OVERHEAD is. Its a selection of bills and debts you pay every month to maintain your business. As we actually RENT PROPERTY to SELL DISCS we have to charge a little more than the normal internet seller and/ or basement vendor, who are only in business to make "some money on the side" or to just profit off disc golf. Sorry for trying to bring disc golf more into the mainstream, and sorry for working to make disc golf better than it is at least in our area. Ill make you a deal...Ill lower my prices when you start paying my rent.

You have no idea what the hell your talking about. The main reason you dont see minimums from other companies is because they cant do it. They have enough problems trying to break into the retail markets that Innova already dominates and cant afford to back people off with the ultimatums Innova can make. The problem for smaller stores ( actual stores, not gas stations and grocery stores doing nothing but making money off disc golf ) is that stupid people have been doing hard work for next to nothing for too long as disc golf alone couldnt support them. Making 2 or 3 dollars on the side for selling some discs may be great, until you start adding up all the bills it takes to make it happen. Unless your a wholesaler selling thousands of discs a year that doesnt cut it in the real world. 80% of all new business fail in their first year. Imagine how hard it is trying to beat that selling plastic. I suppose a person that has worked thier own land into a remarkable course and wants to charge you money to play it is ripping you off as well, since theres over 1000 courses you could go play for free? Theres a option on here called "Preview" that allows you to re-read and sometimes re-think what your about to put into print..I suggest some of you take advantage of it before posting.

Shouldve gotten more. Theres nothing wrong with ordering short run discs to sell to make something off of down the road. I guess nobody on here has ever seen Ebay, or heard of 01 Rocs?

by the way, i don't think calling people stupid is a very good way to add to a conversation. kinda makes your argument disappear behind inflammatory words. maybe if you try acting like a grown up you'll find that it gets you further. look, i understand that you probably own a disc golf store or something and want to defend your honor (or something to that effect). that's fine, but disc golf isn't big enough yet to have your own store dedicated to the sport. sure, plently of cities have them. that doesn't mean it's a good idea. if you want to try to get by, you need to sell discs online. that way you don't have those same expenses like rent and all of the rest of it. yes, there are fees, but it's nothing like rent and selling the disc usually pays for any fees you have. then, make the customer pay for shipping (which is standard, obviously) and you make a solid profit. the only stores that can sell discs and get by are either selling discs on the side (say a sports store like play it again) or an online business. don't blame the rest of us for your poor business decisions. |
