Default First & Hopefull Last, Berber Open at Indian Oaks in Marengo, IL - Satuday, 4/21

This event is similar to the Baraboo ReOpen from 2010.

Who...This tournament is open to the public. You do not need to be a PDGA member to participate. The field is limited to 90 players.

What...The First & Hopefully Last, Berber Open. PDGA Sanctioned C Tier Event (Part of the PDGA's Competition Endowment Program)

Where...Indian Oaks Park in Marengo, IL (about 75 minutes from Madison, East of Rockford)

Here is some course info...http://www.dgcoursereview.com/course.php?id=4559

The reviews are very positive aside from the lack of concrete tee pads.

When...Saturday, April 21st.. Players check in from 8:00 - 8:55. Players' meeting at 9:00. First round will begin at 9:30.

Why...The tee pads at Indian Oaks are currently pieces of Berber carpet. This tournament is being run as part of the PDGA's Compeition Endowment Program. The primary goal of this event is to raise the funds needed to replace the berber carpet with concrete. Of the $29 entry fee, $1 will go into an ace pool, $10 will be used for concrete & $18 will go toward event payout.

How...Register right here or by downloading a registration form at http://www.marengodiscgolf.com.

What else...

Glide & Marengo Disc Golf have partnered up to run this event. Glide will donate 10% of all sales at the event toward concrete tee pads.

If no one hits an ace, the ace pool will be put toward concrete tee pads too.

Particpants who are not curent members of the PDGA typically have to pay an additional $10 fee at C and B tier events. However, as part of the PDGA's Competition Endowment Program, the PDGA does not charge this fee.

Here is a list of registered players...http://www.pdga.com/tournament_results/88077

As of now, few people have officially signed up, but Fred Vroman told me that a group of guys are coming down from Milwaukee.

Thanks,

Mike
