Howdy Disc Golf Ladies! This is Texas calling...the 2012 Texas Women's Disc Golf Championships, (commonly known as TWC). This year TWC has ventured on a road trip for the first time in its history to Houston (actually northwest suburb Spring/Cypress) for this ANNUAL APRIL WOMEN’S ONLY PDGA Pro A/Am B EVENT…this year’s dates being the weekend of April 14th & 15th. All tournament info can be found at the Texas Women's DGC website. We've been quietly working extremely hard making sure we're ready to put on a show for you. We’ve posted a few items here and there on our Facebook page but now, WE’RE READY!! Here’s what we have in store for you:

Two separate weekend giveaway basket contests! Ongoing weekend putting contest and ongoing weekend CTP contest! FREE Saturday lunch for all players and sponsoring caddies provided by Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers. Player & Caddie Social & Party with continued Putting Contest fun @ Stat’s Sports Bar & Grill close enough to the host hotel Comfort Suites to walk (if necessary). Girlie Stations! A MOST important thing…Port-O-Potties!!! Yeaaa!!! And of COURSE…3 fun and very challenging course venues that will test every aspect of your game!! What have we left out? Oh, yea…PLEASE REGISTER EARLY! That will make our job easier and give us more time to build on what we’ve already put in place. There’s no Saturday registration and the Player’s meeting is Friday evening following the Meet and Greet at the host hotel. Hope ya’ll can make it!!

Are you looking for a map "of" or "to" the courses?

Just FYI, I was able to get the block rate at the host hotel today, so that is still available for now.

Maybe this will help, but I'm sure that a map with the host hotel, all three courses, the airport, and directions to and from each would be appreciated.

My mouth just dropped (literally) when I saw the payout. I am not usually a fan of paying a higher percentage than required by the PDGA but this is quite different.
I know many events in the same area would have payed two in the divisions with only three players. On the same course I played am event that payed 4 out of seven in order to "abide " by the PDGA rules....but I digress. The fact remains that two divisions payed over $600 to first in a division where second took nothing. Due to the fact this event has a larger stream of revenue through donations it may be in the favor of the event's future if ALL the women in those divisions, and the others (since there were only 5 in FPO) were payed a reasonable amount(such as their entry back). Big payouts are a great thing and I won't dispute that but if the even wants to draw a larger amount of players in ALL divisions there needs to be a better distribution. This event needs to draw as many women as possible first....then once there is enough demand the payout can reflect a more traditional event.
