Default lake FORT SMITH ICE BOWL

WAFDA Presents the Lake Fort Smith Ice Bowl. February 4th 2011. This year we will be holding our Ice Bowl at Lake Fort Smith Park which is on Hwy 71 North of Mointainburg, which is about halfway between Fayetteville and Fort Smith. This event is not only for charity this year, but is also a preparation for possible placement of a permanent course on this amazing property!! Please come support WAFDA and the sport of Disc Golf, as well as our local charity. As always this will be a fun-filled event with lots of prizes and surprises!

Wayne is about right..... The MOST local is in Mountainburg (6 MILES) but they have no jurisdiction!! Otherwise it's park range era and county Mounties....
As for lodging, they have 3 GIANT lodges, that hold 32 people, and are $320 to rent.....
http://www.arkansasstateparks.com/la...group-lodging/
They also have camping spots, trailers or tents, that are $13.50-21.00 a spot in winter.....
http://www.arkansasstateparks.com/la...smith/camping/
Then in the town of Chester, 4 miles from the park, you have the Chester House Inn, which is a HAUNTED Bed and Breakfast!! . It's rooms are $75-85 for two and include a free breakfast that I have heard is AMAZING!! http://www.chesterhousebb.com/
If you need any more info, let me know. I want to make this as TEMPTING as possible to get you Tulsa folks on over!!

We DID get the pavilion for our HQ and it includes a 5 foot long charcoal grill, that we WILL be filling up with meat for lunch....
And the course is laid out with a nice mix for an Ice Bowl, lefty-righty, ace run- tough 4, water hazard- briar hazard....everything you could want!!

I o lay think they carry pepper-spray for bear, and tasers for bare Okies..... . So, keep your clothes on, and don't growl, and you should be fine!!
If you do get some folks interested in a lodge, let me know, as there has been some talk around here too....
Of course, it would be GREAT to get enough interest to have an Okie lodge and an Arkie lodge!

The flyer is now up, the course layout maps are up, and I have also put up a link to the Wish List for the Food For Kids program, on the Facebook Group Page! Please visit it and check these out for this event. Anyone can go on it, as it is open to the public, Facebook account or not. Here is the link:

I would also like for folks to tell me if they are interested in the lodge. I have 6 folks wanting in, but everyone agrees that they would like to get it to at least $20 a night, so we need 10 more people. Thanks!!

Unfortunately a group has reserved the Lodge at the park (non-golfers)
So I have listed some other options on the Facebook page, linked above. Please do take advantage of these deals, and tell them you are with the disc golf tourney, so they are more likely to help us again.

This tournament is sweetening everyday. We now have over $600 of raffle merch in hand and have LOTS more still to come. I can promise you will NOT want to miss this event.
The layout was played last weekend, and had a nice score range of 42-62, and some good ace run holes to a few you were really glad to make your 3 on! Everyone agreed it was a fun layout to play.
If you are looking for places to stay, I had listed some local options on the Facebook page for this event, and if you will let me know I will gladly research for you, and find the best deal that fits your situation. Main thing is, make it to Arkie land on Feb. 4th!

Over $1250 worth of Merch in the raffle now! All lunch foods have been donated and the rain is supposed to kpmove out early! This is gonna be a really fun time, and I hope to see some of my Oklahoma friends over for it, as well as making a few new friends! If you come on Friday night, we are going to be invading the Chester Cafe Catfish Buffet (down home cooking) around dark, so say 6'ish. It is SO worth the $8 price!!!!
