The Live Oak Disc Golf Alliance (LODGA), the original disc golf club in South Texas, is looking for people who want to help run the club in 2012. Nominations are open for the positions of Secretary and for the three places on the Executive Committee. The current members of the EC can also be nominated again: Joe Painter, Corey Peschke, and Jerrod Votion.

We plan to have our annual club meeting breakfast and free mini on Saturday Jan 21. More details on that soon.

Also we are looking for designs for a club shirt for 2012. Please contact James Pellman with your ideas.

So are there any Plans for the Gonzo New Year Day mini? Got to Love the Great City and course of Gonzales

Check the Facebook page. It is being held at a private course near Lockhart. Course page looks interesting with individual hole layouts. Don't know if I will make it to the mini or not, but it looks like a course that will be fun to play.

Update on Club Meeting and Membership Mini:

First, the date has changed. Due to a scheduling conflict we were not able to get the Pool House or the Youth Building for January 21st. So we have rescheduled for February 4th at the Pool House. Tacos starting at 8:00, Meeting will kick off at 8:30. Elections around 9:00 and Mini will start after that.

Second, because one of the nominees was elected to a leadership position with another club, we have 2 openings…one for Secretary, and one position on the Executive Committee. Lena Votion has expressed interest in the Secretary position. There are three EC positions, and we have two nominees—Corey Peschke and Joe Painter. Jerrod Votion is stepping off to take the new position of League Manager. So we are extending the time to get your name in until January 21st . Post here or email me directly. Remember, we do not take nominations at the meeting.

Membership Drive – To encourage new and renewal members, anyone who renews their 2012 membership ON February 4th will receive $5 off the membership fee. For example, we will be selling single memberships for $10. After Feb 4, the cost goes up to $15. All members receive a 2012 Bag Tag, which we will have on hand at the meeting. Membership entitles you to a full share of ace pots at all club events. Non members get a half share.
