OK, Vinnie I did talk with David Vasquez, and he said that he was not on that project. Mr. Vasquez did give me David Grizzel phone number, I call David and he was not in, I did leave him a message about the tee boxes and I'm waiting for a return phone call. If David foregets to call me back I will call him again tomorrow. I will keep you posted Thanks for those phone numbers they where helpful.

I just finished talking with David Buzzell, and he said that the ball is rolling again, he was away from the city for the last 3 months and they have a new City Attorney. He said that the City and the Club have to come to an agreement about who's to maintane the tee boxes and etc. and that he would call Vinnie when this is ready ( soon). I told David that the Club would do what ever it takes before during and after the tee boxes are in. So Vinnie be expecting a call soon.

Its been a month....Send me buzzels # and I will call today

Big thanx to the guys that made it out to help set the sleeves & donated the concrete! Pretty cool how the wind came & cooled of our little mini work day. Still a little trimming to be done on a few holes, I'm sure Edman will call for a full crew work day soon to get her all prettified. Larry, the collars came out great! Thanx to you & Deb for donating your day off to this project.

Just 4 weeks away now & things are coming together - this sure would be alot easier if more people that enjoyed the fruit helped with some of the labor. There it is, my 1st icon since the board transfer - I still don't like them, but you I needed the extra expression.

There should be a big turnout since there is golf involved. I can't think of any other folks I would rather hang out with and do manual labor than with you guys. Thanks, again.

Ed/Lala, as discussed last night....i have 4 masterlock locks with keys that the club can use for locking up those baskets. I won't be at the Wed mini this week, but i have 'em sitting here at home so they are a sure thing. I'll get them into my "golf box" in the car so you can get them from me next time you see me.

Against the rules for players for a B tier or above - unless you're providing them to the entire field.

Yes, I will be there before 5. Need loppers and gloves. The South layout is complete and it's down to trimming it up. We only have 7 holes left to trim. A good showing today should get us really close so this weekend we can do a little on the Rock. Would someone bring a digital camera for me to borrow tonight? Cadillac if you read this I need to borrow you and/or your viewfinder one day this week for about an hour. We meet at the aeronuts field off of A hole tonight, Come out and give us a hand.

Looks like a good turn out for the moonlight mini - sounds like fun. Course layout & doubles format to be announced @ tee time. Whiskey Skins @ 4:30 since we're Carroll free. We should finish @ 6:30ish. Powling if the pavilion is free. Edman & I will bring a portable. If pavilion is not we'll just grab a grille. We've got some coals, so bring some meat & I'll grabs some torts & chips. Anyone that shouldn't drive can pile in & crash at our house - work day mandatory for house crashers. 9am work day (10 if you can't handle your **** at nightgolf) meet @ 13's pavilion. Bring loppers and gloves.

Big thanx to Mrs. Carrol & Mr. Brown, Patti, JAB, GayD (even still drunk) TonyP, & of courres the ever present Coffey's for helping finish up the South Course. Still need some box work & limbs drug off on the Rock - I'm sure everyone that couldn't make it this am will handle that in their own time during the week. See you this Sunday 9:30 tee @ Wilco.

I can't make tomorrow. However, I plan on making the Sunday mini and then staying after its over for any weed eating or hauling that's left over to do. Will need some direction on what/where so.....hopefully someone in the know will be there Sunday. Few days ago I committed to doing the weed eating around 3&4.....that still stands as long as the weeds are still there on Sunday. :-) Otherwise, just point me to other areas and i'll get 'er done.

Weedeating tee areas & trees on the Rock & some limb pick up is what's still needed. Huge tanx to those that braved the rain yesterday to finish off the South Course & fix tee on 8 - cleaning 8/9 - Patti, JD, Martin, Ware, Jimmy, Brandi, & Lala & Edman (Duh) & don't forget Cisco helping clean up around the trees - that dog just doesn't know when the work day is over .

17's basket area is a wreck & will be called OB if we don't clean it up (just what I heard on the inside). Tee boxes need cleaned off - shovel & stiff broom needed. Limb pick up on 8/9 is done & rock wall has been re done (needs weedeated). 12/14/16 basket area & 15 tee area needs cleaned up. Thanx for helping when you can.

I generally do not think too much of Temp courses. Going forward I will have to re-evaluate my opinion. The RR South Course is a great complement to the 21 hole North course. Thank you Ed for your vision and pushing to get it put together for OutLaws.

Only had the one chance to play it during doubles, but made a lot of phone calls Friday night, trying to arrange child care so I could play the tournament.

Thank you for all of your hard work Ed.

Default Rivery Course Improvement/Tournament

I wanted to throw this out there for youz RR peeps. Im not sure of his last name but a gentleman by the name of Kevin is planning on being the TD for a tournament at the Rivery on Sunday Dec. 13th. Kevin was the TD for the Hamilton Creek Open in Burnet, Tx recently.

Anyway he posted on the early birds that he is planning on having work days every sunday up until the tourney starting Nov. 1st. I know he is looking for all the help he can get for not only the workdays but also for players for a great turn out.

Here is some info from the earlybirds website (http://www.earlybirdsdiscgolf.org/)

From Kevin,

"Thanks to the effort of Manny Gonzales we will have all the needed materials to fix up the Rivery Park!!!

Now it's time to get the work in.. First work day will be Sunday, November 1st at 9am.

I have 1 Pick Axe, 2 Shovels, 1 Rake, 1 branch/briar cutter, 1 fold out saw, 4 5gallon buckets, 1 scraper (for the targets) and some sand paper..

We will surely need more tools and we REALLY NEED someone with a Golf Cart / Mule or whatever they are called. Moving granite gravel a bucket at a time is a unique form of torture.

Get with Manny Gonzales or with me if you have questions or have tools/supplies you can bring.

I will go ahead and get the date official from the PDGA for Sunday, December 13th...

Thanks,

Kevin"

From Manny Gonzales

"I spoke with Eric from the Gtown PARD and they are going to be supplying Mulch and Granite Gravel for the tee boxes for The Rivery. I will be speaking with a Operations Manager next week on the specifics. Told him its for a Tourney we are having on Dec 13th and that we would be working every sunday in November to make it happen. They really appreciated our help on this with The Rivery. They will get us enough gravel for 4x10 boxes and mulch for around the baskets. They will strategically place mounds on different parts of the course so we dont have to lug it all from the parking lot."

Anyway I just wanted to post that here so hopefully we all can work together to help out some fellow golfers.

Happy Hucking,

Jason

I personally think crushed granite tees will bring Rivery Park down a notch. I played there yesterday after heavy rains the day before and the tees were all playable and not slippery, which is pretty amazing.

What the Rivery really needs is some signage to make it more welcoming to first timers.
