I have the same problem but it is well worth the trouble. I just had to start buying bigger drinks until I bought a nalgene bottle. My bag is about a year and a half old and it still doesn't have a loose thread on it after plenty of use. I'm sure somebody will jump on here and top that cause I have heard people say there's is five years old and it still looked in good shape.
