The short answer is yes, discs can be recycled to make a lot of different plastic products. We use reject parts from molding to mold new Echo discs, but we wouldn't use old dirty discs, if that's what you're asking. Those could be used for some other project or product.

By far, the most important part of any shot is what is happening in the last split second as the disc is pulling itself from your grip. Focus there. It's the key.
