No conjecture on the overall SSAs. Those are as factual as we can get. One thing people might not realize is that there are nine players with ratings over 1035 this year versus only one in 2009. This is quite a few more players who can accurately throw over 400 to eagle 10 & 12 for example. Their scores make it look like the course is playing easier than before the throw & distance penalties of 2010. But the average scores of the lower rated players are falling in the same range keeping the SSAs within one shot over the years before 2010.
