My mouth just dropped (literally) when I saw the payout. I am not usually a fan of paying a higher percentage than required by the PDGA but this is quite different.
I know many events in the same area would have payed two in the divisions with only three players. On the same course I played am event that payed 4 out of seven in order to "abide " by the PDGA rules....but I digress.
The fact remains that two divisions payed over $600 to first in a division where second took nothing. Due to the fact this event has a larger stream of revenue through donations it may be in the favor of the event's future if ALL the women in those divisions, and the others (since there were only 5 in FPO) were payed a reasonable amount(such as their entry back).
Big payouts are a great thing and I won't dispute that but if the even wants to draw a larger amount of players in ALL divisions there needs to be a better distribution.
This event needs to draw as many women as possible first....then once there is enough demand the payout can reflect a more traditional event.
