National Get Outdoors Day

"National Get Outdoors Day is a new annual event to encourage healthy, active outdoor fun. Participating partners will offer opportunities for American families to experience traditional and non-traditional types of outdoor activities. Prime goals of the day are reaching first-time visitors to public lands and reconnecting our youth to the great outdoors."

The PFDS and Moraine State Park are teaming up this weekend to promote disc golf during the National Get Outdoors Day. Please join us for a day of promoting disc golf on one of the premier disc golf courses in the sport!

We will have a tent set up near hole 1 and we will be providing promotional materials as well as offering disc golf demo clinics at 11:00 am & 2:00 pm! One can never tell how many people may show up to learn about disc golf, so the more PFDS volunteers we have on hand, the better!

The Moraine Monthly will start at 3:30 pm!

Plan to spend the day promoting the sport we all love to play! Bring old discs you no longer use so interested park patrons can try their hand at tossing a golf disc! We are in particular need for used putters and mid-range discs as most of our donated plastic are drivers.

Bring lunch or plan to grill out. Some folks have told me they are planning have a dinner barbecue following the monthly. Of course, the Lakeview Beach concession stand is open for business this time of year. Lake Arthur is available in the event you want to take a swim and the showers are open as well.

I hope to see many of you at Moraine this weekend!
