Re: Discraft Stable fairway driver
yeah, I guess I should've clarified what I meant a little by fairway driver.... Basically not a wide rimmed or high speed driver like the Surge (which I use for my max d driver) or a crush or flash. I'm looking for a smaller rimmed driver that doesn't require throwing it as hard as those fast drivers to get a good predictable flight with.
Basically, what I had in mind was actaully those Players Cup Trackers that are straigther than the new Z and ESP trackers. Those new production run Trackers can be piggish for those of us that don't have huge D.
I actually have an X Avenger in my bag too, for my max d annies/turnovers. They are nice at first, but break into a hyzer-flippin/anny disc for me.
X Preds are nice too, but discontinued. Z Cyclones are nice, but a little short. My Z XLs can produce the shot I want, but I have to really preserve an exagerated hyzer line and they often still track too far right during the first part of it's flight (while still preserving the hyzer angle/line).
I guess I'm being a little too picky, and should just be a little more wise and make my discs do what I want them to instead of adding a mold for each shot. But that's idea that led me to this problem: I'm probably gonna drop my XLs in favor of my Cyclones, since they really cover the same shots that I'm using them for and I've been throwing my tourney pro cyclones a lot more when I used to just throw my XLs. But there are some shots when neither of these discs has the stability I want. Just need something a little more stable but not stepping up to pred or avenger stable.
So... I guess I'm gonna work on my ESP Trackers a little more and see if they beat in a little straighter. I figure with them being a little slower than those max D drivers, I'll be able to focus more on line shaping than having to but so much power into them, and I won't have to worry about wide-rims slipping out of my hand...
for those who have thrown the Z and ESP Trackers, how do they break in? Do they become eventually like the Player's cup Trackers? Do they ever really fit Discraft's description of "a longer Buzzz?". I'm skeptical, because I think the straighter Buzzz description is more applicable to the X Tracker than the Zs or ESPs.
