Got the Destroyers on Friday night and hit the football field. These are the Star proto stamped versions, and this isnt message board distances. I took 2, a flat Red one and a poppy top White. The White was really beefy, the Red was similar to the Teerex-X.
To compare them I also took a seasoned Pro Wraith, a seasoned Star Wraith and 2 Pink proto Raging Infernos.
Honestly, I didnt notice much of a difference between the new Destroyer and my seasoned drivers in terms of distance. Obviously, they will perform better when they are used, so keep that in mind. As it was, the RIs outdrove all the others, and I expect the Destroyer to be similar shortly, after I bang if off some trees.
They are very fast discs, and I found it interesting they went about as far as the seasoned drivers right out of the box. On average they went about 40-60 feet past the endzone, which is a real good pull. I was throwing golf shots, not trying for distance. The longest shots I threw were when I rolled it over slightly before releasing, so it was coming out with a smidgen of anhyser.
To me, it was slightly harder to control than the Wraith. It is faster, but I dont think it was any faster than the Raging Infernos I throw. The main difference was that the RI will actually rise on its way down the fairway and slightly flip over before catching. The Destroyer doesnt really rise up, and when I pitched the nose up slightly, it never wanted to flip at all, just hold. When I beat them in, Ill do the same comparison.
Keep in mind, Im throwing RIs made in the best plastic Quest ever produced, and probably wont ever produce again. The Pink protos are the fastest and longest drivers Ive thrown, on the course or in the field.
I liked it though, and plan to throw it some more. I felt pretty much like what everyone is saying on this thread is dead on, with the exception of the distance compared with the seasoned drivers Im using already. When these beat in, we will see if that changes, and Im pretty sure it will.
