Re: Need a new bag
You get what you pay for when it comes to bags. Revolution and Gateway are the absolute best bags but cost the most. I'd say it's a three way tie after that with Innova, Discraft, and the PDGA bag. Lighting bags are the cheapest but as you found out, they're also the least durable.
I had the same mindset as you a couple years ago when trying to choose a bag. Budget was was main concern. I went through a Lighting bag, the PDGA tour bag, and two Innova tour bags within about two years. These bags are good for about 6-12 months before the zippers give way and the material by the cup holder starts to fall apart. I bought my Revolution bag a little over a year ago and it looks brand new!!! Nothing has broken and the zipper are of the highest quality, plus the internal frame system is great! If you're truley going to be playing more this year, you should spend the extra $50 and get the premium bag. If you get anything other than Gateway or Revolution, you'll probably end up buying two over the course of next year and spend the same amount of money. Plus, Revolution is made in the USA as opposed to most of the others (China, Tawain, etc)...the craftmenship really shows.
