Starting on September 23rd and running until November 4th there will be a 10:00am mini every Saturday at Ben Geren. Entry fee is $5 bucks, $1 buck going towards WAFDA, $1 buck going towards ace pot, $3 bucks going towards payout.
WAFDA has already tossed in $25 bucks from their own account to kick off the ace pot. The mini will be singles and I will alternate from the a pins and the b pins. No mixed pin positions for the mini's they will be in either a's or b's. Myself and the slinger will be running the minis. If you have any questions feel free to ask. until then keep on throwing.
This will be a handicapped league also, trying to make it fair, particularly for newer players as well as players that have never played competitively.

We've seen alot of different ways to handicap and we're not totally set on 1 yet, we're leaning towards simplicity - draw everyone towards par 54 - if you average 2 under par you'd have a +2 handicap, if you play 3 above par your handicap will be -3.

Does anyone have any suggestions on this? I like Chuck Kennedy's method on discgolf.com or doing it by a PDGA player rating but I think it might be confusing to inexperienced players and this league is really geared towards them as far as fairness.

The scores used will be on the honor system particulary for the 1st round, we'll keep a ledger for determining the handicap as the league progresses, its only 7 weeks long.

Ideas or comments are welcomed!!

One concern that I already have, and I don't want to be overly examining the method so much as to complicate whats not really complicated but IMO if the tee's were all consistent throughout the 7 weeks it might help better track peoples handicap - remember this is designed for newer players, 500 foot holes can discourage a new player pretty quickly! Maybe move everything long for the very last round of the league or even let the players that are playing vote on what to play.

But most importantly, it's great to finally see an organized mini with WAFDA's name on it, let's have fun and play disc golf
