2010 am world doubles

Besides me/ware2 and bigarm/mussell.....

who else is playing Am World Doubles this year?

of those who are camping there [for $10/person/night]?

FYI registration deadline is March 1 according to Circle R.

seewhere Feb 22 2010 02:30 PM

i think the nicholson's are going for their 10th time :) just kidding I know its only 6... GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE DOUBLE R in attendance

MVP Feb 22 2010 09:13 PM

Don't the Nocholson's qualify for grandmasters after all these years?

nix Feb 23 2010 08:56 AM

JD and I are playing.

Jon D and Aaron are a maybe...

johne Feb 23 2010 11:25 AM

cool. Ware2, me, keith, and russell are camping there....given several more teams.....sounds like we'll have a good time. Hope we can get a good campsite. All depends on when we get there. Fairly sure us above will be getting there around noon Friday. When we camped there 2 years ago we were over by the showers (rather than the usual place where we camp for TX Teams).

nix Mar 02 2010 11:48 AM

This tournament had gotten ridiculously expensive! They are charging for EVERYTHING they can think of! Even for paying by credit card (which technically they cannot do- even though there are easy ways around it.) Psh.
$260 to play, camp, and have lunch for 2 days. Wow.

johne Mar 02 2010 12:20 PM

Agreed. The free pizza and beer Sat evening better be good.

Ware2 and I are all registered as of today. Looking forward to it! This year gonna do it easy.....EzUp over the back of my Tahoe, air mattress inside, no tent to mess with, charcoal grill for evenings, gas camp stove for breakfast, big ice chest full of beer......and a "portable crapper". heh

nix Mar 02 2010 12:35 PM

Just got the confirmation email for me and Gayy Dee (after bicthnig about the fees, of course.)
What the eff is a portable crapper?
Not sure what all kind of gear we have, other the JD's massive house-tent and a generator...

johne Mar 02 2010 02:16 PM

its a $10 backup from academy, in case the portapots get "full". Very good "insurance", heh.

seewhere Mar 04 2010 09:18 AM

FYI

for all you ams that are going and camping Fishhead said he will rope off the team area campsite and ensure you guys have a burn barrell.. YOu ROCK FISH

johne Mar 16 2010 01:55 PM

To follow up on that.....I just looked at the player's list and the teams that will be attending that are "close" to the Double R are:

Ware2/JohnE
JD/Nix
The Nicholsons
Rodney/Peyton
AAron/JohnD
Denton/RT
JAB/Harris

Feel free to add to that if you want, I'm listing them here so we'll all know who to expect to see there. Hope y'all all wind up camping with us at our spot on the ranch (where we usually camp for Texas Teams....by the road).

We'll have at least one grill for evening cooking Fri/Sat (22" round charcoal w/lid).

I know JD/Nix plan on being there by noon Friday, Ware2 and I are shooting for that time as well.

We'll see y'all there.

If you are going to tomorrow's mini at OSP we can talk about it some more there.

johne Mar 16 2010 01:57 PM

No 2-meter rule! Whoo hoo!

ButlerSteveO Mar 20 2010 11:36 AM

After the last few days of 68 and breezy I wish I was at AM Dubs...39• and 25 mph winds. Sounds like good times

vinnie Mar 20 2010 11:46 AM

good to be a pro

MVP Mar 21 2010 11:32 AM

Can't wait to hear some of the stories about the gentle breeze on the hill!

johne Mar 22 2010 09:53 AM

ha. the Hill was where Ware2 and i played our best, wind or no wind (Sunday morning, +4 regular doubles, 7 birdies). If only we could have done anything close to that level on the Meadows on Saturday. :/

fun weekend though

johne Mar 22 2010 09:55 AM

The creeks were full, first time i've seen Meadows #7 that way.....what a beautiful hole.

seewhere Mar 22 2010 10:51 AM

so how did you guys finish? did Josh loose # 1 to the Nickelson's

johne Mar 22 2010 03:10 PM

ware2 and i had tags #1 and #3 Friday afternoon after our first practice round. :)

why we agreed to 9 more holes after that, I have no idea in hindsight, lol

ware2/me tied for 5th, which isn't saying a whole lot

seewhere Mar 22 2010 03:42 PM

i saw good shooting on sunday

seewhere Mar 22 2010 04:15 PM
