View Full Version : Women's Section on PDGA.com

I sure wish there was more information and access to the "women's" area.
I bet most ladies don't even know it exists.
Being stuck at the bottom of the "pdga tour" drop down just seems like once again...........
we are an after thought.
If this was important to PDGA, wouldn't we know it is out there? And how will you EVER get any information if we don't even know it is an available tool?
I know we are all busy, but it sure feels like the ball has been dropped (once again) for the ladies of the PDGA.
Thoughts and comments are requested on this subject.

never knew a woman's area existed here..... Juliana did a great job of putting that together. But, it may be more useful if it were somewhere on the site that would be easier to see.......

And those of us out "in the trenches" believe it would be beneficial to invite participation.
I would love to see some TLC for women, and this is a good first step.
If you build it, they will come! LOL
(just show us where to go!)

good point suemac, I am glad you brought this to the open.... I have been a member for 10 years (as soon as I renew) and if I didn't know it was there, how is someone who is new to the scene supposed to know that is there?

I had no idea there was a 'women's' area. That's cool and nice to know. Thanks on the information. I will pass it along to my girls.

Your welcome. I hope we can make use of that and other social networking sites like facebook.

I don't know or have even heard of any Women's section on here...this illustrates your point suemac.

I think that Women should get their own tab on the PDGA site. It would then be visible to everyone - and newbies like myself would have known about it sooner (thanks for the heads up and location of it Sue). I just don't have the time or the patience to go through every tab's drop down box to see what all there is. I am glad, however, that there is a section of the site dedicated to women players - so thanks for putting it on here for us.

I show the discgolfer magazine to my daughters when they come out. In each edition is pictures of some of the ladies and the results of their tournaments. I agree that we need more exposure to the ladies who play and are role models to our youth. Hopefully, as the education programs evolve and schools find innovative ways to add this industry to their curriculum9math, science and P.E.), we will see a growth in the numbers and added enthusiasm.
I was at Eastway Park in Charlotte, NC today with my son(usually to get my daughter involved she likes to caddy..not today though). After playing, there was a young lady with her son and the 2 children she watches as a nanny. She had never thrown a disc golf disc......UNTIL today!!!! She has male friends who play professionally. After having seen the enthusiasm I took in showing the younger kids and her son proper technique, she became interested and I referred her to the local women's leagues. She was thrilled that the disc hit the target!! Hopefully, she will become involved.
This truly is a game for EVERYONE!!

You should form a LPDGA.

Looking for a web site concerning the Women's USDGC, something that could lay out the history. ie. year started, who won, by how many strokes, etc. anyone got any info? what discs are released exclusively at this tourney? etc. etc. etc.
send me any available links that are out there!
