The Michigan State Parks are big into disc golf now. They have five (5) courses, including the one I am helping them put the final nine holes into this week or next. The park system wanted to hold a 'Park Your Drive' series of events using all five courses, so I and other TDs scrambled to help them do it.
Here is the page for the most comprehensive set of information: http://www.DiscGolfersR.us/group/parkyourdriveseriesmichganstateparks
The way it works is that you play any or all of five tournaments, and once you register for the series and pay a $5 series fee, your birdies and aces are cumulatively kept track of. The players at the final of the five events with the most points will win lots of goodies (cash for the Pros).
The next event is August 29 at the Big Portage Lake Unit of the Waterloo Recreation Area, just north of Grass Lake and only a few miles off of the Grass Lake exit of I-94 - http://www.DiscGolfersR.us/events/park-n-throw-waterloo. (About 20 minutes west of Ann Arbor, if there weren't a bunch of construction going on right now.)
This course has a LOT of birdie-able holes. And at this tournament, we are giving a Throw Shop coupon worth $10 to participants who can show they are unemployed and looking for work. We expect it to fill.
