Windjammers versus MADGolfers

The only way to do this is to throw down the proverbial gauntlet. As the untitled head of the Modesto golfers I have been asked to issue a challenge. We, the Modesto Area Disc Golfers, challenge the Delta Windjammers of Stockton to a one day tournament (two rounds). The MADGolfers will play anywhere you choose, any time. (early Fall and as long as it doesn't conflict with other tournaments) Number of competitors can be whatever is manageable. Let the trash talking begin! (in fun only)

Total players from both squads need to be in multiples of 4, so you can keep that in mind. I'm thinking 12 each from both clubs would be good. And it has to be a match-play format. That's the way I originally intended and designed this competition to be in the first place. The second time we did this, it was stroke-play(not the way this comp was intended). You know, mini Ryder Cup action. First round: doubles, second round: singles.

I agree completely on the match play and we have plenty of time to introduce to the golfers that there is another way to score a game of golf! I'll work on it at my end. Never say scramble format for a doubles round, or best disc; they just get so confused.

I would say that for the Windjammers, we should go by the next 6 or 8 singles scores from the weeklies. Top 12 make the team.

Will this be by division (open, masters, advanced etc..)? Are scores being accrued now? If so who is in the top 12 at this time?

Maybe after the CVS finals we can get a time and place for this to take place. C'mon Windjammers, lets take it to those MAD golfers!!!!
