There is another course in our area (NOTE that the course is private). Chris M., at the camp, located SE of the City of Roaring Springs has installed a nine hole course for camp users. The course was designed for the primary user group of 13-18 year olds, however, he is wanting to have options to extend/toughen up the course to handle other groups as well. The course plays from the main area into the wooded areas. There is one main open shot to test distance. There is a true tunnel shot. There will be a shot that is over a small river (likely to be a small lake in the future). The things get tough where there is a shot up a hill (in the wind), a shot back down, a shot up a valley, and a final shot back down over/through brush onto a welcome open green area. They are in process of making the course more 'playable' by cleaning out excess old undergrowth, dead limbs, snakes (we came across a big rattler during layout). In the future, they plan to look into another nine baskets and concrete pads. Chris hopes to host area dgers on an occasional basis...more later.
