Hello Spring Leaguers ...
Just letting everyone know that the plan is to start the 10 week spring league on Wednesday, April 8th. The Park's Department will likely put the baskets back in the ground sometime between the 1st and the 8th.
Spring league will be the best 8 out of 10 weeks and we'll probably do double points nights on the 5th and 10th weeks. We are also thinking about some other fun and exciting side games and league formats such as 2 disc night, pick your own groups, etc.
Registration will go from 5 until 5:45 and a tee off around 6!

Nearly 40 people again on Wednesday night. 2 aces were hit so the ace pool has been wiped out. Some hot shooters from the first week shot not so hot the second week and vice versa.
We are also working with the old Tumbleweed which is now Passport. They are very interested in sponsoring us with some food or beverages. However, that means we need to go in there and patronize them for that to happen. I'm working on scores and details from this Wednesday night and should have them posted soon.
Thanks!

We are already half way through our Wednesday night spring league. Averaging around 45 people a night and having a great time doing it.
Scores are constantly being updated on both the www.gldgc.com site as well as (and even quicker) www.discgolfscene.com. Check out www.discgolfscene.com as it even keeps track of what the ace pool is at from week to week.
Valley View plays quickly, we always finish in the light, and it is a short and fun course. We offer weekly prizes as well as an end of the season party!
See you on Wednesday nights!

Looking forward to number 7 of the 10 week league tonight. As always, scores have been posted promptly to http://www.discgolfscene.com/leagues/Wednesday_Weeklies-Spring_2009.
Let's see if the scores are as hot as the weather.

Wednesday, May 27th is 2 disc night out at 'The View'. Come on out and leave your bag in the car.
$55 ace pool was hit last week so we're again back to zero. Also, we are 1 week closer to giving away a portable basket and having our end of the series party at our newest league sponsor - http://www.passportbrewhaus.com.
If the weather is nice, I'll be out at leagues plenty early on Wednesday the 27th.

I'm out here to thank everyone that came out and enjoyed 1, 2, or 10 rounds at Valley View this Spring for the league. It truly is a great group of people that come out each week and I am already looking forward to June 17th which is the start of the summer league!
The Passport Brewhaus in New Berlin (The old Tumbleweeds) has been a very gracious sponsor and we love working with them in support of our leagues.
We also have to thank www.DiscGolfScene.com as they have been an awesome resource and tool for getting league stats available to everyone online.
Look for Summer League to start on Wed, June 17th and we'll see you there!

Leagues are still in full swing and going strong.
8/19/09 is the 9th week in the 10 week summer league at Valley View which means we have an end of series party in the works.
Also, it looks like we might continue with Wednesday leagues going into the fall. Format may get changed as well as pushing up the start time by 30 minutes. I'm open to suggestions.
As always, look for more info on www.DiscGolfScene.com regarding the leagues!
Thanks,
Terry

Format would be fun to change up. Anyway of doing a doubles round with pro and am players versus semi and advanced? or something similar. I think a handicap # is essential to make this work so as far as I know there is no handicap available but using the ratings could work too (but only if you are part of the PDGA) or maybe only based on your socring to date in the VV leagues. I assume not many new people will be coming into the fall league!
