Man, wish I would have known about this a little sooner than today. Nick came by the store today and was telling me about it(think he and another guy are coming). I've never played either course, would have been a good weekend to do it, but can't make it happen on such short notice.

If things come up like this, please post something about it on the CVDGA site's discussion board. www.conchovalleydiscgolf.org (http://www.conchovalleydiscgolf.org)

Sorry. Really, we never decided to do it much sooner anyway. I was hoping for a hunt trip on that (11/15) weekend, but nooooo. Rocky and I have talked about a joint event, but it never panned out this summer. There kept being a tourney that we did not want to compete against. I have several thoughts for events out of Lubbock. I want to do a Levelland/Portales/Clovis event, a Levelland/LubbockMackenzie/LubbockMcAlister event, and a Plainview/Lubbock event (yes Plainview, see new thread). For the 11/15/08 1D-2C, I really did not thing we'd attract 'outsiders', but we're really happy to have you!

Let's all get to Levelland early enough to be DONE registering by 9:00. Rocky and I will do a short meeting and then try to be teeing by 9:30 sharp. Rocky will have a few course specifics for the Levelland course (OB's, tee locations, etc.). Hopefully, play will move along quickly and we can tee off at Mackenzie by 2:00. I will announce the exact time to meet at Mackenzie after the Levelland round. For the Mackenzie round, we will be using THREE tee positions: Jr/beginner's play from rec, int/rec play from pro, and pro/adv play from newly marked (paint) alternate tees. The alt tees are mostly just a little longer and slightly more difficult. They should be fun to play. We could use a few dontations (discs or otherwise) for the CTB's and of course the Jr and beginner players...purty please. ;)

Done. What could have been a VERY cold Saturday, turned out only fairly cold on Sat am. Some wore shorts for play for the afternoon round. We had twenty three players show up, many of them were that Lawless gang (ha). Rocky was the TD for Levelland. No ace hit, Steve Mosely won the playoff. I was the Lubbock TD. No aces hit, Drew Mosely (a jr) won the playoff. We had the three divisions throw from slightly different distances. Through the day CTB's were won by Rocky, Drew, Jeremy Brumley, Mike Ivey, Mike Keane, and Darren Lawless. I followed the PDGA payout schedule, but rounded, and flattened it a little. Rocky, playing left handed, due to right arm surgery, won Jr/beginner/temp-lefty. Darren wont Rec/Int (Eric Daw second). Bo Neill took the Pro/Adv win (Nick Rowton from San Angelo was second). Overall, the event(s) ran really smoothly. We were completely done right at sunset. I think everyone had a pretty good time. I can see that we could do some more One Day - Two Course events.
