November 29, 2008 will be the date for The Club Championship Tournament. I met with Parks Department today at Fritz Park and the date was approved. There is a possiblity The City will allow us to set up 18 holes for this one day event and I will know more next week after the Parks Dept. weekly meeting. We will not be using the other side of the creek at all. The Parks Dept is looking at the land beside Hole 7 and along the creek for additional holes. I will keep everyone posted on the decision next week.

Total number of holes that will be played has not been decided, but this will be an all day event with putting contest(horse shoe style) - long drive(air & roller) & accuracy. Stay tuned for more details. That is all.........

Thought about it...so I could get one of those nifty leather tags /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif I played the Saturday mini a *few* times, so I can justify becoming a member of a group only 200 miles away from where I live :p

Club members only?

Yes - Members Only. Registration will be for current members first due to limited holes, but if there is room then those who were not memebers for 08 can join for 09 and participate.

We ended up with 95 members this year and because of the support The City of Irving is starting to recognize disc golf. 09 Memebrship package is being discussed and will be posted 1 month prior to the tournament.

It is OFFICAL - The Parks Department called and has approved the 18 hole lay out for the Club Championship.

Just to let everyone know - some of the baskets that will be used are practice baskets. They will not be uniformed so some may be taller than usual or a little different than the baskets we are use to, but everyone will be playing the same baskets so advantage or disadvantage will be equal. We are an equal opportunity mess up your game Club.

Stay tuned for registration information and tournament format. 09 Membership renewal will be included in entry fee.

I forgot to mention the additional 4 holes along the backside of the creek will not be set up anytime before the Club Championship. We have approval for one day only, but The Friday before I will be at the course pretty much all day so I will have everything marked so players can walk the course.

The other 5 holes will be used as part of the mini each week. We will still only use 20 holes each weekend, but will add 1 or 2 of the holes being used in Nov. as the alternate.

If I have totally confuse you sorry, but I've confused myself

I really appreciate everyone who attended Irving's First CC.

I forgot to thank some very important people yesterday and I'm really sorry. I'm really greatfull to those guys who have helped me all year and the day before the Tournament.

Garry Roddy
Ken Reagan
Ziggy King
Mike Russell
Ben Hooker
Mike Mc Kenzie
Don O'Connel - tournament stamp

Without those guys the CC would not have been possible.

Thanks again for Titledisc - Josh & Deidra for all their help and for being my back-up all day.

This year has been really great for Irving Disc Golf, because of our membership we were able to show the City of Irving disc golf is alive and well. Doug Wison with The Parks Department has been very helpful and really hope The City continues to support IDSA.

Step one is now complete and the next step is have a PDGA event in the future. Fritz Open 2009 ???? lets hope so.

That is all........................
