Does anyone know if in fact hole #8 was stolen sometime between yesterday and today? I know that the ground there had loosened the collar and it looked as though it was pulled right out of the ground.

I am hoping that the parks noticed it and took it out to put back in later but it looks as though it may have been taken.

Just thought I would throw that out there. It is horrible at the reports of all the stolen baskets lately. I was playing a few courses in Pittsburgh last week and they have had a recent string of baskets gone missing. I suppose the ease of access makes baskets easy targets to steal. Sad.

Basket was stolen. Police report was filed and currently they are going to install the practice basket in its place. Dont know what the future holds for purchasing a new basket for the oringinal. But as usual some jackass felt in was better suited in their hands than for everyone to enjoy.

Great point. It is probably the same group of jerks taking the baskets. If it continues a point will be reached that some courses may be incomplete, which sucks for the rest of us. I hope someone gets wind of who is responsible.

Basd news, heard on here a week or so ago that the basket was loose.

As opposed to quickly replacing the basket with another (practice or not), you might want to try the method Terry Miller used at Valley View. By putting up a sign threatening no replacement, possible pulling of the course and so on, the person who took the basket was guilted into returning it. Probably by his buddies who also play the course. If you just replace it, the stolen one will probably never come back.

Shark has also had some success with this approach. If the person is a local player, having everyone give him grief about only being able to play a 17 hole course for a period of time might make him think about returning it. Good luck in either case.

Is there any word that the practice basket has been put in place of hole 8 before I go out there and play?
