Regarding Spring League of 2008
The ace pool was 'stolen' in a spectacular fashion on Wednesday, June 4th. It was up to $134 dollars and about half way through the round I heard a yell from the card in front of me. Sure enough, a guy that has only played league twice in his life had just hit the ace pot. Oddly enough, that's not even the crazy part.
Later on we heard another yell and assumed an ace was hit again. We were right because Sarah Hansen hit an ace on hole 7. It took Sarah nearly 6 or 7 years of playing that course before getting her first ace and then she finally got one about 4 years ago. However, she wasn't done ... Sarah went on and aced just 3 holes later on hole 10!
Yeah, I said it, Sarah Hansen DOUBLE ACED in a single league round on Wednesday night. She most certainly received 2/3 of the ace pool for getting 2 of 3 aces that night.
And I thought I was cool because I simply hit basket on hole 6 using a 150 class Aviar. Sarah showed everyone what was up and the entire league couldn't have been happier for her. Heck, I've been running leagues out there for about 3 or 4 years and have yet to get a single league ace.
Steve ended up shooting -4 and Sarah had a few bogeys but still shot -7 that round which tied her personal best score.
The last week of league is double points night and about 5 different people could win in the advanced division so we'll see how things shake out.
Regarding Summer League of 2008
The new summer league will be starting on Wednesday, June 25th. It will be similar format to what we had during spring league. Please arrive anytime prior to 5:45 to get yourself signed up so we can get started shortly after 6. We hope to see you at the Valley View Leagues on Wed nights.
