Hey everyone,

This year's GMO is going to be a good time and it's about 4 weeks away so I wanted to get a thread going here and provide some basic info. More info can be found on my online registration pages but I will spell some out now:

All professional divisions will compete on Saturday, May 17th along with the Advanced Men.

All other divisions will compete on Sunday, May 18th.

We are playing Dretzka Park and only Dretzka Park. Many of the pins will be in the LONG or SUPER LONG positions. I am working with Shark right now to finalize the exact locations. Plenty of you have requested the long tees and pins and now you are going to get them. Sunday's competitors will see a challenging course but it will not be nearly as long as Saturday's course. There is a small special "Tarzan" incentive for anyone that wishes to play both days. Don't be scared!

We are NOT playing other courses such as Dineen or Brown Deer. Instead, you will play 54 holes in one day all at Dretzka Park. For the first time in many years we will have the Dretzka Chalet as our event headquarters! That means we are still taking sponsorship / vendor requests on a limited basis. For those that attended Am Worlds - you'll see just how awesome it is to have that chalet to use.

Registration fees will go up on Thursday night (May 15th) so please commit to the event early to avoid these fees. The player's package will include at least a custom event disc and a custom event tee shirt.

As always, online registration is available and if you wish to skip out on the online fee simply subtract $5 from the online amount and mail it in. I don't care how you pay me - just get it in so you're not shut out.

This is also a United State Amateur Disc Golf Championships Qualifier!

I'm going to offer a NOVICE (AM4) division at the GMO! I see that there is some demand for such a division and I want to do the best I can for the most amount of golfers. It will be the same amount as the REC division and it is obviously offered for anyone that's eligible. I believe that PDGA cutoff is below 850 right?

The player's packs will be CUSTOM STAMPED DISCS and also TEE SHIRTS. With only a $20 entry fee that means there won't be gobs and gobs of payouts but there will still be something besides sweet trophies. Currently we are planning on having TOM HOLSTEN style trophies. Those alone are worth coming to compete for.

We are also going to have a raffle for a TOM HOLSTEN CUSTOM BASKET as well as other games, CTPs, and other basket give-aways.

Please get signed up online or via snail mail immediately.

Registration fees go up by $10 on Thursday, May 15th at 6pm

Well,

Dane and I just got done entering and uploading the scores. We're at Applebees about 10 minutes from the course.

A long, but beautiful day of disc golf at the very intense Dretzka Park. More to come later but I had to get it out there that the GMO SCORES (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=7431) are posted.

Payouts and all that jazz to come in a day or two.

ADV MEN played the short pads first round then the long pads second round. ALL OTHER DIVISIONS played both rounds from the longs.

ALL competitors play from the short pads to the same pins (as today) tomorrow.

Thanks to the staff and sponsors - what an awesome day!

Another great day of tournament action in the books. Thank you to everyone that came out to make this weekend such as success. I hope that everyone had a great time today.

Here are today's scores (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=7965&year=2008&incl udeRatings=1#Advanced%20Women) .

I couldn't find the Junior Champion's second round score just yet but I was pretty sure he won by 2 or 3. I will double check that and update it tomorrow.

I was also informed about 2 other typos from Saturday and I'll get those fixed tomorrow as well.

Thanks!

Hey everyone,

I had been asked by a few people about the status of the United States Amateur Qualifying process. Since this was the first year of me being a qualifier I wasn't sure about all of the details. So, I e-mailed the TD and here is what he told me on Monday, May 19th.

"I will get the qualified players up before the weekend and the PDGA will email them invites if they have an email, otherwise I will "Snail Mail" them. If someone is interested, the can go here (http://www.midgp.com/qualified_players.html), find out if they are qualified, and then register here (http://www.midgp.com/register.html)."

Thanks!
