Hello Fellow Disc Golfers
I am visiting Baltimore for work and will have 1 day to play the different courses. I was thinking about playing Druid Hill, then Silver Creek, then Rockburn Branch before my ~3:00 flight back to San Diego. If there is time I will add Patapsco.
Are there any courses that are a MUST play in the area?
Also should I avoid any of the listed courses? Is silver creek worth the time with only 14 holes?

One more thing, where can I find course maps so I can find my way around the course and maximize my disc golfing? /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
Thanks...

avoid silver creek, it isn't worth it. patapsco is set up in all C pins so that is a must play but it will take a little longer to play and get to (about 1/2 hr from downtown). druid is an nice 27 hole course in the city. rockburn is nice as well.

maps for patapsco, rockburn and druid (original 18) are here. http://www.geocities.com/meklir/

when are you planning to play? i usually play either druid or rockburn in the afternoons around 3.

i forgot to add that rockburn is within 10 minutes of BWI and patapsco isn't that far from there either (20 minutes).

patapsco's current set up is a must play from blue pads to C pins but it will take you a while and be hard to play alone.

see www.md-discgolf.com (http://www.md-discgolf.com) to try to find a game.

Dave,

If you enjoy a good challenge and a par 60something course, playing Patapsco would be right up your alley. From the long tees to all long 'C' pins, just breaking 70 would be an accomplishment during this time of year for all but the strongest golfers. This course would be your quality vs. quantity.

If you just want to play a few different courses, play Druid and Rockburn.

what day are you visting? perhaps a couple of locals could find the time to join ya and make sure you know the layout.

i'm 5 minutes from the rockburn course!

Thanks everyone.
I'll be starting Wednesday the 27th very early (hopefully ~6:30) at Druid Hill, then run over to Patapsco (~8:30 or 9:00), then if I have time I'll go to Rockburn Branch (11:30) before my ~2:40 flight back to San Diego. I'll check the md-discgolf.com site on Tuesday if I can find internet access.

Patapsco from blue to C position sounds like my kind of course... :D:D:D

What is the weather like out there? I've played in almost every condition from "Utah in winter" to "Philly during a Nor'easter". I expect it to be cold and wet, but the forecast calls for ~50° weather.

Your websites are awesome. :cool::cool:

weather could be 20s and icy or 60s and sunny or anywhere in between. check next week.

i might be down for a pre-work round at the hill. i wouldn't anticipate getting rockburn in after patapsco before your flight.

Bummer if I can't hit the branch, but it sounds like patapsco is the one I want to play anyway. Look for me on the hill in the morning. I'll wear a brown hat, with a mid-sized travel DG bag, mid to dark Green Rain Jacket and yellow pants if it's raining. :D
I'm very excited to check out some new courses. this will make 39 courses played to date.

If you played the shorter tees at Patapsco and practically ran through the course, you might be able to do both.

But you wouldn't want to. Patapsco is one of the premier world class courses on the East coast and should be enjoyed leisurely like a fine wine.

I've got my maps, raingear, and travel bag ready. I'm very excited, this course sounds great.

Guys
Your courses are awesome. I managed to play Rockburn just before the sun went down on Tuesday. Then Wednesday morning, I played Druid and Patapsco. Patapsco has been added to my top 5 courses I've ever played. I could have played better at all 3 courses if I had more time to enjoy them and had my entire arsenal. Here are my results:

Rockburn - 55
Druid - 54 -from the wood tees to the furthest basket I could find.
Patapsco - 73 - from the blue to C.

I was the only person at patapsco for 2.5 hours. If was quiet and beautiful. I saw several deer and a cardinal. Quite a change from the Southern California courses I'm used to.
Thanks again for all your advise, I hope to be back soon.
