I'm glad to hear that this tourny is on Sunday, that way I can still work Saturday (important to work with the Memorial approaching). This event has been great fun in the past and a good chance to get in the DGW magazine. Hopefully, the new mag will feauture the Ice Bowl events. I encourage all to bring some donations or some dollas to bid on auction items. Brooke runs a great auction, so come out to play, donate and buy some swag. PEACE

I'll be there and bring some stuff to auction, Brooke. Looking forward to it!
The most I ever paid for a disc at the auction was $110. Given that Sheila's job at Pfizer ended on Wednesday, I doubt that I will equal that this year, but I will bring some cool stuff.

Glad to see you've made the transition back to posting freedom successfully. Watch your p's and q's though. I won't hesitate to report any of your posts that step around the line of politeness. And careful of that Charles guy, he said implied profanity and personal attacks burn his eyes!

Looks like a high of 32 for Chills right now! That's beautiful weather compared the cold we've been experiencing. Who's coming to the auction?

Is anybody planning on going out to the park before sunday? what are the chances of somebody clearing the tee pads on the original, i also believe if you ask the park they will give you salt to spread around on those icy tee pads. Short tee pads at least would be great. I don't know if we are going to use the longs the PRO's who showup will have to let me know there thoughts.

My suggestion: Don't confer with the pros. A TDs job is to run things the right way, not ask what folks would prefer to do. You should know already that time is of the essence at this event and scheduling anything but 18 holes / short tees is likely to lead to trouble (particularly with a few inches of snow and wet conditions as forecast.) That's my take on it, at least.

That is nearly a personal attack Joe, you are treading on thin ice. I will bee watching CWojCry as well, I've heard he can be quite vulgar and offensive.

Jan 23 2008, 01:53 PM
Is vulgar a personal attack? I guess we will soon see, consider the mods notified Charles. I don't want to hear anything else offensive out of you either brah, you are on probation.
Bill- Don't ask any players about which layout they prefer. Make a decision and stick with it. Letting player(s) influence your decision is bad idea. I am wondering what your decision will be, please let us know asap.

Some things are so funny you just have to laugh!!!
Everybody will be playing short tees!
2 rounds of 18 holes both on the original course.
Oh and Woj i disagree with you i think allowing players to voice any opinions is very important, and sometimes even act on those opinions, but that is my .02.
See you sunday bring donations and lots of cash to spend at the auction, we have even picked up more sponsors since the last report. more unique items.
2 rounds of 18 holes
followed by the auction
followed by payouts.

Is there anything specific that can be listed that will be auctioned off. I had originally planned to make out just for the auction, but now will be headed out of town for the weekend.
Hoping maybe I can send someone to bid in my place, if I had an idea of what will be there. I have some extra cash and need something to spend it on.

Let me reiterate the goal of the tournament and auction. To raise money for food gatherers. There will be great stuff to bid on that is for sure. Look at it as an opportunity to give back to the community and be a part of the greater Ice Bowl mission.
I hope to see everyone on Sunday.
kwilliamson
Jan 25 2008, 05:09 PM
I'd be there if I could, but I have to be in Dayton on Sunday.
I'd still like to see some CT challengers. Pretty sure I could outbid most everyone. You'd have to take paypal though.

Thanks Terry
Thanks Brooke
We have already raised $140 toward food gatherers thru discs purchased thru the ice bowl program. Thanks to everybody who bought some of those discs.
Its a good start. Remember we the goal this year is more than 250# of food and over $1200 in cash.
Thanks to Foz and all his fund raising efforts this should be doable.
If you haven't heard there will be a CTP for every division in the 2nd round ran by Foz. as well as other potential sponsorship rewards after the 2nd round.
see you there sunday.

cyferban
Jan 26 2008, 10:47 PM
Take note if i didn't mention this previously there will be a CTP for every division in the 2nd round, plus another prize for a different player in every division.
We will also be giving $25 gift certificates to the largest cash donation and largest food donation (the food donation will not not be based simply on items but quantity or estimated weight by staff)
If any body has Cam Todd Challengers please donate them as they will allow us to auction them to at least 1 individual, he will buy 2 if the price doesn't get to high.
thanks for all your donations in advance and hopefully your attendance and you spending lots of money at the auction.

I do not believe we met our goal of more than 300# of food if we have more than 100# i would be surprised so if anybody would still like to donate i would be willing to attempt collecting it from you by wednesday i hope to drop the food off and money at food gatherers on thursday or friday of this week.

Hello everyone thought i would let everybody know.
We raised 255# of food (up from 249# last year) and donated $2500.00 in cash to food gatherers.
A3 rounded the money up from something like $2100.00 raised at the event to the donated amount of $2500.00.
thanks to all the players with their donations both in cash and food. As well as all the purchases of the auction items which helped us more than double our cash donation from last year.
Thanks to all the sponsors who donated CTP items which hopefully everybody enjoyed. the sponsors who donated items to the auctinos and Foz our sponsorship guy who raised huge quantity's of these items for the players benefit and food gatherers.
Thanks to everyone again for your assistance in this worthy cause.
