Can Guido check my status on the CVS Series for 2006. Am I to play PRO or AM?

pnkgtr
Nov 05 2007, 10:16 PM
Ray, if we used your player rating to determine your division you'd be an AM Master still. But if you want to challenge yourself...come play with us! You could always try it for the first tournament and if it doesn't work out play AM the rest of the tournaments.

Hey K.L. where's Brum and Stoops?

ioneca
Nov 06 2007, 09:53 PM
I know Rich wants my $$. My current rating is 910, worthy of advanced masters. I was told by the Skullmaster to ask Guido because I won his event last year. I think I should stay an AM this season, hopefully do well and bump next season. I want to be greedy and win the overall!

ioneca
Nov 08 2007, 08:17 PM
Well I see the tourney is full. So I guess I am official as an AM Master for this year. Skull must just be messing with me. I have been practicing a lot at Hogan.

Played a round and 2 thirds yesterday at OV in preparation for next week's cvs x-mas open. RJ, Tony C, Fraser, Ryan, Nick and I played the whole time in rain. It was a lot of fun, but didn't play very well. I had 2 birdies all day :o.

The course is set up in a way I haven't seen in a long time, with #2 in the short and a new pin placement on #12 short.

The creek will definitely be full when we get there next weekend so I hope they have spotters because you couldn't see 2 inches under the water.

RJ hit basket on #18 for the best shot of the day and Tony birdied #8 for the luckiest drive of the day!

My feet are still wet. It's supposed to rain all week, too.

Congratulations to all you Windjammers that cashed in the Xmas Open. Kenny smoked the field of grannies and Ray hung tough as a pro master. Next stop, V-town. Right now it looks like I'll be the only Windjammer representing in Visalia. In the Grandmasters' division that is!

A big "waytogo" goes to Tee-Mac for the crucial downhill birdie putt he made on the last hole to beat Hall of Famer, Michael Travers by a single shot for 2nd place!
Corbett takes 2nd in Am Grannies and Krash takes 4th in Adv followed by Ryan at 5th.

I posted this on another thread, but I thought I put it here too. How can Kevin Randall win in Pro Masters, but get points in Pro Grand Masters? He didn't play against any Grand Masters so why should he get points in that division? Kenny, any thoughts on this?

pterodactyl
Feb 03 2009, 12:44 PM
Well, let's see, since the CVS doesn't have a manifesto and nobody seems to be in charge of anything, I don't really have an opinion on this one, other than creating a document that spells out exactly what should be done in the future.
Do we need 4 to be a division? Can you be 39 and play in Masters? Do we just follow the pdga? I don't know. That's why we need to have a meeting of the TDs at the finals to make sure all this stuff is ironed out before next year.

Teemac
Feb 03 2009, 01:31 PM
I've been playing in the CVS for eight years and this is the first year that I know of that there has been issues that needed some kind of clarification. A Magnet Carta seems necessary now.

Looks like Big John took the bull by the horns and drafted some proposed rules for the CVS. (see disctribution.com) I saw your post about WT winning in Taft and getting 100 points in the Masters division. I can't see how he can claim any Grannie points for Hanford after getting Masters points in Taft. IMO

I just saw in the chat box at disctribution.com that Guido ruled no to payers that didn't play. My feeling is that those who paid, supported the CVS and helped fund those tournaments even though they were not there. As with an odd lie on the course, the group makes the decision with the benefit of the doubt going to the player. I can't think of any reason to dq people who have shown their support for the finals that promotes the CVS and its purpose.

Looks like March 6th will be the date of the Stockton(event yet to be named) CVS tourney.
Then a month later we have the finals at The Fid. Should be a busy time frame for us Windjammers.
I'll try to come up with something different for the Stockton course. I'm thinking a hanging basket on a temp hole would be good. Any other suggestions?

The flyer will be sent out at the beginning of 2010. Last year I put it out super early and the registration process lingered on and on. This season I'm closing the window a little bit so the process doesn't last forever.
