Here are some results for the Ace Race.
Aces-
Karen Quintoa
Dave Lo40 (Lo Forte)
Scott Kidwell
Krash
Arno Lopez with 2 big aces for the win.
Other notable performances- Tim McClary with 4 metal hits.
Next year I'll order 70 packages and I'll run it earlier in the year so the Stockton guys can play with out a scheduling conflict.

It's official. October 18th. The Ace Race is back and I'll try to make it better than last year. I'm hoping to get some sponsors so that I can feed everyone and pay 2nd and 3rd place instead of winner take all. The price was raised by Discraft to $25 but I'm giving (slightly more than)1/3 of the profit to the Baskethounds so that it can be added to the pile of cash we've raised so far to finish the Creek Course. If anyone has any bright ideas I'd like to hear them especially if those ideas will make the event better as a charity. I don't think I'll dye 60 discs this year though.

Will you have any fliers at the Fid so I can give them to my friends?

The folks at Play it Again Sports are the first sponsor for the Ace Race. They are going to donate some discs for second and third place prizes. In addition they will be accepting some of the registration for me too. So if you want to sign up and (because of injuries) you don't see me on the course, you can pay at PIAS. Now if I can just get El Rosal to donate rice and beans I will be set.
Ray, I'll give some forms to Tim so players in the north can sign up too.

Is there going to be an ace pot?
pnkgtr

We could do that. If players wanted to participate I could collect $1 to $5 dollars from everyone that might want cash and pay it out. The winner already gets a bunch of discs and a bag for winning. This year I'm also paying out 2nd and 3rd place with discs. Maybe splitting the pot for everyone that aces but doesn't win would be good.

I got the Ace Race discs yesterday. The "grand prize" is a little skinny compared to last year. I only got 10 premium discs and a bag. This year I am paying out 2nd and 3rd place. I am also providing a very nice custom dyed sparkle Shockwave for a raffle prize. To enter the raffle you must provide a used disc to be used as a raffle ticket (any disc golf disc even DX plastic) that will be donated to Suzie Kidwell's school so that she can teach disc golf to her students.

I was just kidding about the ace pool. In Texas, they collect ace pool money before the tourney and split the total equally amongst all acers. If nobody hits an ace, all contributers get to throw on a ctp hole for the money.
It's a great idea that Texas Kyle Norrid kept trying to get me to do.

I thought you might be kidding but the idea of a cash ace pot is encouraged on the Discraft Ace Race site. And since you're a frequent user of the :oI wasn't 100%.

Lots of winners! Thanks to everyone that participated. Especially the Windjammers, Paul, Ryan and Mike Corbett that had to drive a little. Oh and thanks to the park troll for revealing the sort of person that he really is in front of 50 golfers (some not pictured here) by calling the police on us. The police said, "We kept trying to explain the situation to him and he just didn't get it."

Congratulations to all the winners at the Ace Race. Once again Rich did a great job running the Race. Thanks to all who supported the silent auction; that money will be used to get those tee pads we need for the new holes. Hopefully we will install them before the Fall Classic.
