OMB YGB Rockwall Fall Invitational [Archive]

I've got an idea! Saturday October 6th lets play a round or two of flip dubs at Rockwall (omb ygb style) then everyone can come over to my house. I'll cook Jambalaya on the patio. We can putt, play ping pong, drink beer. Bring your family, bring your friends, bring some beer. If you want to skip disc golf, thats ok, just call me for directions. For everyone else, I'll bring directions with me to Rockwall. I live in Murphy, about 20 minutes West of the course. All OMB YGB'ers are invited, I'll be sure to have plenty of food. If you don't like Jambalaya I'll be sure to have some past date pimento bologna for you to snack on.

Everyone also think about the 2nd annual Jeremy Martin Memorial

Jeremy was an amazing person and golfer just on top of that, along with any other sport he wanted to play

Sunday event, but winners in every division take baskets home, payout is amazing...and anything for this cause has my blessings.

It's worth mentioning that Ruben Galindo is runing a Discraft Ace Race at Northlakes in Denton that day. Deidre and I are committed to attend, but if you move this little shindig to another day we're in :)

I'm going to leave the date the same. I spoke to the wife and we have some things going on on Sunday. I hope you and D can make it out Josh...better late than never.

I do have a grill Gary. Ribalaya anyone?

Also im going to have a few cases of beer on hand...but who knows how far that will go.

What time do you want to start on Saturday at Rockwall Justin and 1 or 2 rounds? Just happens that Charles Cox and Troy Berry wanted to play out there that day also, so I think they will join in for the golfing part.

I guess thats kind of up to us.
Option 1
If we want to squeeze in two I would say lets start at 9'ish. Play'em back to back then shoot over here for dinner. I will have all the food prepped, just have to throw the ingredients in the pot and cook it...it will take about an 1.5 hours. If we average 3 hours a round (i hope they go quicker than that) we can be done and at my place by 3:30ish eating around 5 or 5:30

Option 2
Play one roung starting at 11'ish...leisurely. Then head over to my place for dinner.

Either way works for me. I figure people who are driving further might "want to get their moneys worth and play two rounds...

Deidre and I will be in Denton that morning, but we're going to try and make round 2. More than likely, though (since the ace race starts at 10:00)... we'll just be hitting JJ's house after the golf.

Thanks for the good time JJ. Dinner and drinks were great and a fireworks show to boot - can't go wrong with that.

We probably had about 20 people Saturday morning that drove to Rockwall, then to the Bon and then back to Rockwall in the afternoon.

Bag Tags switched around and Dan and JJ have #1 and #2 now..Todd and I would have had to split up #5 and #40something..so I took #100 instead...Charles and Troy ended up in last for the day.

Had a great time putting last night also and playing catch with the kiddos...good to see Pickle Head having so much fun :)

We will have to do this again sometime soon.

I'm really glad so many people made it out. My family and I really enjoyed it and I haven't even gotten any complaints from the neighbors yet. :)

The fireworks cost me a pretty penny, but you guys are worth it. :cool:

well that was lionel and myself with -1 then, unless someone tied us.. I had to run after the round. How did rockwalter go? were the cross country runners gone?
