Man,

That's the weekend of the 30th Waterloo. Played in 12 of the last 13 so I can't miss this since I'm already a McC noter. Paid for all 13 but the morning of the 1999 event I went to the emergency room and had a spinal tap. Just wasn't up for DG that weekend :D

People were on the road by 6:30 last year.

We are not doing skins this year, so we are hoping to have everything done by 6pm.

Last year the players meeting was at 9:30, that will be about when it will be this year. We are getting the agenda together, and will have an announcecment soon.

Hope your event went well also Ray

We had about 50 players Saturday afternoon for bring your partner doubles with Pro and Advanced divisions. The OK wind was kicking strong, but no where near what we dealt with for the tournament on Sunday

Saturday night was a going away party for our buddy Brian Erwin and his name was plastered all over the marquee of the bar that was holding about 400 people..most of who he seemed to know.

The tournament on Sunday started up with many great memories of Jeremy and his mother was there for the entire event. Kyle Wilkes and Jason Schwakee TD'd the event w/o any hitches ( that others noticed :D)

The Pros and Ams stayed at Dolese for round 1 and the others went to Will Rogers.

I was able to play with my good friend Paul Dejulius both round Sunday and we started the 1st round with Harvey Barger, Mitch Mac, David Richardson and Dave Wise..after about 6 holes we realized we were the only 6 card on the course and split up. A good friend that blew his knee out months back jumped in with Paul and I and we shot all the rest of the holes as a 3 group until our final hole when the Pro Masters jumped back in a finished the round with us.

Man those guys are good!!! Harvey has some amazing Ultimate shots that he transferred into disc golf.

Food and drinks were provided for all the players for lunch while Jason, Barb Paske and I did all the cards for the 2nd round. The 50 or so players from Will came to join us and they added 6 more holes to Dolese that include 2 island holes - USDGC Style

The final round I was able to play with Paul again, Joe Rotan and Brian Erwin. Doug Maxfield joined us also and by the end of the round we had 12 people following us around including Brian's mom - who signed my ace disc.

Jason put a tee pad directly behind a softball backstop, so in OKIE fashion, I spiked a Starfire over the top and slammed a Discatcher portable. Still suprised it caught the disc, but it did and nobody else hit that weekend - $150 for me

All weekend we had $1.00 shots for a basket and by the time the finals came around Jarred Pennington and Jason Schwakee were the only ones left. Jason sunk the final shot and won a nice brand-new bucket!!!!!

Division winners took home baskets and glass plate trophies

Our club donation went to many of the cash CTP's and other bonus's during the whole tourney, of which my ace hole was also a CTP so I got $20 more on top of that.

I think everyone was done on and on the road by 6 or so. Kyle's vehicle was broken into during doubles and they stole his wife's cash from her purse, but left all the discs and the laptop. Kyle said it best that material things can always be replaced and Jeremy would want us to play on and pay it forward

Next year the event should be on a Saturday so I hope to see many more great faces out there.

Thanks Jason, Kyle and everyone else that helped and especially to Jason's mother for being out there all weekend helping and hearing stories about Jeremy from all his friends and fellow golfers!

More..

Coda won Pro, Mitch won Masters, DJ won Grand Masters, Don Cook won Advanced.

Not sure on the others, but they will be posted in time

With a tourney going on in TX and KS also that weekend, the JMM still had the most players of the 3 tournies and we had players from TX, KS, LA, OK and maybe others.

Waterloo always caps at 95. We had Oak Grove,CA area and Costa Rica represent, no east coasters this time. I know we raised a bunch of money for the Ronald McDonald house and I had a blast and walked away with 4th, three strokes behind Hovey, but tied for the hot final round with the winner Todd Golden that moved me from 7th.

Alex Downs Open, Joel Kelly Masters, Neal Dambra Grandmasters, Anthony Pugh Advanced

I'm glad the DG community can support three tournies like these in one weekend, man the sport is growing :)
