This Saturday, September 22nd a Frisbee Picnic is being hosted by the Flying Aces Professional Frisbee Team at Carr Park in Manchester, Michigan.
You are invited.
So why are you invited? Who are the Flying Aces? Where is Manchester? Any free goodies? Any entertainment?
Brain Hayes, the head flying ace, runs a frisbee demonstration business. His company puts on frisbee demonstations for schools, companies and sporting events (half time shows, etc.) See flyingaces.com. So Brian does what we only dream of: he makes a living playing with discs. Brian is hosting the picnic as a way to get videotape of frisbee freestyling, footbagging, frisbee dogs and disc golf for his website to promote his business.
He wants disc golfers to attend to be audience members for the other disciplines and demonstrators for disc golf (presumably your freestyle, footbagging and frisbee dog skills are well below the levels of the world class talent he is assembling for the picnic, but feel free to give it a go if you think you have game).
So the video taping is set to begin at 3 pm. Arrive early for the warm up. Food and refreshments to follow. I, personally, will be refreshing during the warm up and during the performances but you may have far better restraint than I.
Please bring your disc golf bag. I have been authorized to create some Lizard games for prizes and cash-and-of course, to capture on video for the website.
Manchester is 25 minutes south west of Ann Arbor. From I-94 exit number 159 (M-52 South) to downtown Manchester. Go West on Main Street less than 1 mile to Carr Park. The back pavillion is ours for the day.
So to summarize: free food, free goodies, free entertainment, and a chance to have your skills captured on video. Please join us and bring your buddies, families and any hitchikers along the way.
