Okay, and I think Daemon's bringing some stuff to grill, too, so I'll be getting some refreshments in stock on my way home from work. I guess we'll be chilling out for a while after the round.

Okay, well . . . what an evening. The thunderstorm swept through at 6 pm, but in anticipation, we had cooked some burgers, so we ate and drank and watched it blow through.
Then we had four doubles teams ($40) and the $60 added cash and started playing while it was still raining.
Putting out on Hole 1, Daemon put his bag down on a ground hornet's nest, three of us, including Daemon, got stung. We had to leave his bag behind as it was surrounded by a swarm of hundreds of nasty things, so he borrowed discs for Holes 2, 3, and 4.
Then, after we threw our drives on Hole 4, John Davis snuck up on the hornets, grabbed Daemon's bag and ran like lightning to the fairway for Hole 5 and dropped it. He did not get stung.
But, after we drove on Hole 5, when Daemon walked up to his bag, despite the dead hornets inside his beer bottle, there were some live ones, too, and he got stung some more.
We continued play and Daemon finally was able to retrieve his bag as we played Hole 14. In between we saw some spectacular sunset stuff, at one point it looked like the lid was being ripped off the sky with a bright line below the thunderclouds.
Two teams tied for first: Ben Calhoun and Anislee Newman tied with Daemon Stahlin and Greg Lane at -11 for the short tees. They split $100 for first and second because when we finished it was pitch black and they were throwing at the solar powered lights above the basket on Hole 18 and there was no time to to play a throw-off.
John Davis and Nic Spitler shot a -10 for third but no cash. By the time it was done, only 4 of us had been stung.
Right now, we are eating beans and dogs and brats, cooked by Harvey and drinking Blue Moon and Corona. Eat your heart out.
Next week, doubles are on Thursday at 5:30!

Just got home and got myself cleaned up. What a fun night! Rain can't prevent cool people from having a great Friday night. Peace out.
