From Jason Kirkaldy--

Kensington is back in the league system! Club Kensington is now the Club Kensington Chain Hangers. The sunday league at noon is now back in effect. Gene Maloy, and I (Jason Kirkaldy) are running best shot doubles. This is a $5.00 league witha $1.00 optional ace pool that pays 50% the rest goes to the club. This Sunday we will be having a league and course clean up. Those who participate in the clean up will be rewarded with FREE DISCS compliments of Discraft. There will be a bbq and some other games afterwards. Please come help support the club and the course. Side dishes are welcome, and BYOB!! We look foreward to seeing everyone there. Please come early!!

Jason and Gene are very enthused about the league reforming after a multi-year hiatus. I will be there with some special give aways as well. Who knows what kind of goodies I will find in the archives.:D

The point of this thread was to draw people TO the cleanup day, not AWAY from the cleanup day.

This is geared to people who don't really play tournaments or were not planning on playing anyway. I'm one of them currently. I do not want to draw tournament players away from an MDGO event, nor do I believe it will in any way, shape or form.

I know, Daemon, but this part of the forum *exists* because of a3disc, so I also have to mention the Birthday Classic (a3disc) at Hudson Mills: http://www.a3disc.org/2007/birthday/index-reg.htm.

It is pretty cool to have these kinds of choices all on one (sunny (!) forecast) day: (a) sanctioned bit event, (b) unsanctioned fun event with a decade+ of tradition behind it, (c) re-start of a great league with clean-up and food.

No matter how much disc golf grows, we may someday look back on these as the "golden years."

Ah I did not realize there was a conflicting A3 event. I was planning on hitting Riverbends for a last chance at a berth, but I would rather not donate to Raley and Schack. Now I have a choice....

Chains is like horseshoes combined with Disc Golf. You have a team of 2 and get points for making putts, hitting chains or hitting the cage. First team to 21 wins. The game is played with two baskets about 35 feet apart and you throw two putts at a time. Your team member stands near one basket and you stand near the other. You play against another team and the winner advances to the next round.

This Sunday will be 3 matches of round robin followed by a single elimination tournament. Payouts will be based on the 101 dubs payout table.
