Hey all you Zoo boys and girls.
I'm planning a trip through the area on Friday of this week to tape some action from a few (?) of the upcoming Worlds courses. I'll be doing course preview pieces in some upcoming episodes, in advance of the Big Event. There's only one year to go now, folks!
If you're interested in helping out by playing some holes for the camera or otherwise assisting, let me know.
I have made some initial contacts but don't have the agenda set just yet.
And for the many of you out there who have community access TV (K'zoo, GR, Midland, Traverse City etc etc) contact me about your free copies of my program DVDs. Bring them to your station, bring the people some disc golf on TV.
Best regards to all,
Joe

Hi, Taylor -
I'll only be in the area during the day on Friday (this trip at least), more or less passing through on my way to pick up one of my kids over on the lake MI shore.
Thanks.

Isn't that the truth.

Hey Joe,
What a great idea! What time are you planning on swinging through and which courses were you wanting to hit?
I'm sure I can get Larry to come out as well as a few others.

Hi, Kevin -
Nice to hear from you.
It looks like Cold Brook will be the first stop. I should get there ~10:30 or 11 and hope to get a gang of folks together to throw some shots on a few of the holes, get some video of the character of the course and some hole descriptions from folks who are around if they're interested.
Pass the word around, by all means.
After CB, its down to Morris for more of the same, then Oshtemo, which will probably be the last stop (at least this trip) as I've got to get on my way to snag up one of my munchkins.
How's that sound?

should we bring the oberon?

Jen, I've got too much driving to do to think about how nice some Oberons would taste along the way...
But for everyone else, bring whatever it takes!
For folks looking to find us during the day, we'll start at Coldbrook in the late morning, head towards Robt. Morris after that, then swing over to Oshtemo towards mid afternoon. I'll have to be wrapping things up by 5 or so. Come on out if you want to lend a hand with some commentary on the courses and/or some throws for the camera.
Good news on the broadcast front for Kalamazoo. Looks like Disc Golf Live broadcasts on community access will be on starting shortly. Besides Kzoo proper, the station also serves Oshtemo, Comstock, and Portage.
And in the upcoming shows, we'll have some local flavor to add to the mix.
Best regards,
Joe

Kevin, great to meet you, thanks for taking the time to come out and show me around. Get yourself a monopod and see what you can do with that cam.
Jen, way to round up the posse and then spank the whole crew. We should have no problem rounding up a partner for you for next year's doubles. Your assistance was invaluable and I'm looking forward to reviewing the footage and stitching a piece together.
So, when is that Big Announcement going to be made?

Congratulations!!!! Having that huge sponsor will help the effort of creating a quality experience for all. I will be lucky to be coming from Florida and having a place to stay on Wheaton street during the worlds week. I cannot wait!!!!
Anyone coming to the Players Cup in November... I am 30 minutes away, and have plenty of space to crash. I know that staying at the Inn during the tourney is great, but if you are coming in early my place would make a great(cheap :))place to stay. This offer is open to any MI golfer.
