NCDGU Region VII

I spent a bit of time at Am Worlds on the same card with Pete May. He's the driving force behind the NCDGU, the National Collegiate Disc Golf Union (http://www.ncdgu.com/), which had the first national championships last spring in Augusta.

For the 2008 championships, the NCDGU has divided the US up into regions. Region VII includes Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan. Sometime between now and next spring, I'll organizing a way to select a regional champion college or university team to represent the region at the nationals.

I'm hoping the folks who have already been working in related areas, particularly in Michigan, are willing to provide ideas and expertise. Anyone who would like to help out, please join the Yahoo! Group I just created: http://groups.google.com/group/ncdgu7/.

UT is in. Club is officially formed, we'll be discussing events to participate in on the first Friday in September coming up.

I'm waiting for more info on the GLICDG stuff to be posted. I think they need a shorter name though... too many letters.

Great Lakes Intercollegiate Disc Golf Challenge...
Could just rename the whole thing something like...
The Great Lakes Conference or something, make it an official conference instead of just a "Challenge." That'd be excellent.

As for the National Regional event... UT is allll for it! I'm all for it being held at Hudson Mills since you can't beat the Mills for badassery, Terry. Or even something at Rolling Hills, because the place is simply beautiful.

Just some thoughts, and I am kind of from the area so I'm biased.

Figured a new thread would be made for a new year :) Its Great Lakes Intercollegiate now! *grin* And Bowling Green State University is holding a Doubles event September 15 as a fund raiser. I'm hoping I can recruit them into the challenge by the second half of the season.

Is there any new info on this years series? Lansing Community College would like to be represented with a team. How would we go about signing up?
