I am quite new to the sport of disc golf, but I absolutely love it! I just signed up for the tourney in Ingleside. I have never played a tourney. Am I stupid for signing up for this? IF not, what does anyone recommend to prepare?

Nope not stupid at all. Leave your DX plastic at home. Practice the back nine in Beeville that will do you good in Ingleside. Have fun. That should about sum it up.
Edit starts here....Practice putting. I am not a very good putter but that is where the most points are shaved. Play with better players.
Lots of advice is out there.
But have fun really is the whole point. Oh and give back.. It will make you feel good.

lot of people are scared of Ingleside, but then again there are more squatters at Ingleside than any other course. The trees are thick and the shule, woods, are even thicker...

@ Waylon: Check out the course at least once beforehand...even if you don't get to play it, walk it...there is a big variety of fairways...
@ Mike: If we get to play 27 in Ingleside, where are all the temp holes going?

11 Blue box is broken off flush with the ground.. Any one interested in making the hole any longer? I don't really want to dig in the ant bed.

Welcome to the great addiction of disc golf, i mean sport...
I think it's best to start playing tournies right away so you get a feel for the competition side of playing. I'd defenitely check out both courses before hand, West Guth in Corpus & Live Oak Park in Ingleside.
if you want to learn correct form from the top pros check www.discgolfreview.com (http://www.discgolfreview.com) under throw analysis or read the articles if you can handle all the details :)

Well, thanks a lot 3rd Coast! I thought I had the disc bug bad enough, now that I have played in my first tourney...even worse! I had a great time in the Rec div., and am going to try and make shule school. For sure can't wait till Oct. Anyway, thanks for everything... my "large" t-shirt fits my wife well. I would of really like to had a disc golf shirt for myself. Thanks for putting on the best tourney I've ever played in! Lookin forward to many more!
