Most people don't realize that playing in the BSG is the most important tourny of the year. Why ? It's the only tourny that sends results to every county park leader in the state. BSG started in '94 with maybe 15 courses in the state. It had huge turn outs in the first couple of years and disc golf finally got noticed. With in a few years disc golf was everywhere in the state. Then every one who had a course wanted a tour stop. That's not possible. So the Bsg became just another weekend of golf in a sea of tourny's. 75% of the people in the state more than likely play thanks to Duster Don Hoffman and now Larry Ast. Let's bring a sweep of metals back to Mil metro area. Any one who plays in a league I run and wins a GOLD metal in any div will get their entry reimbursed (25$). I will also give 2 free passes every night of league by ctp's untill June 11th. Sign up at www.badgerstategames.org. (http://www.badgerstategames.org.) On line reg closes June 17. Remember this event gets more courses in the ground than all other events combined. See ya there Mark

Not a Milwaukee local but I'll be there. Badger State is always one of the most fun tourney's of the year. And as Mark said it's probably one of the most important. I know people love playing for their cash/plastic but this is an event everyone should try to make. The entry fees are MUCH cheaper than most tournaments too. It's about time I picked up another medal. I think it's been 3 years now!

First let me say that I understand the whole spirt of the BSG but what is up with am's (not adv.) players playing pro for doubles.
This was the 2nd time in 3 years this happened to me.
Last year I had Luke and we got bronze.
I know that it is luck of the draw but how am I to think of metaling when it's me and a pure bottom feading AM against Brent and Todd or two player that are in the right division.
If it was short tees then maybe but longs both rounds.
!!!!!NOT SOO MUCH!!!!!!!

The guy that I got said he played pro because he heard Barry was going to be there. He said he finished towards the bottom of the intermediate am the day before. It would have taken a minor miracle for the gold and bronze winners getting paired up to not win doubles . Still had a great time. Maybe Larry should tell BSG to only let adv players prereg for pro doubles and everyone else has no choice but to play ams. Mark

Yeah maybe Larry could consider that next year.

All in all it was a great weekend!! I medaled in the singles event which was most important to me. The doubles event you win some you lose some. All depends on the draw and pool of players it drawn from.

Peace...
