The Windriders will have a one day event on the day prior (Saturday June 16) of Father's Day (Sunday June 17). Sherri took the leap and is now a PDGA official! She is the Father's Day Fling (FDF)Tourney Director. Details will be coming soon, but there will be two long rounds played on Saturday. There will also be doubles on Friday. No tourney play on Sunday will allow everyone to get back home and visit with their dads. Better, bring the dads to play...or dads, bring the kids to play!

The FDF is to be a C-Tier. Sherri has a plan to get your money's worth and to really test the skills and stamina. The one-day event will play 54 holes (two rounds of 27 each)! A flyer is posted at the course sign and at:

Sherri is working hard to make sure that the FDF is a good, tough event. She will be taking registrations at the Thursday doubles, on Friday night, and even on Sat morning (but please, everyone, sign up early if you can!!!). As it stands right now a Nebraska player will be the farthest to travel to the FDF (I was hoping for Anita, Kim, or the Chiz).

The FDF is history. For a middle June event, the weather was great...overcast and relatively cool in the am round...a little hotter in the pm round. Sheri had the two father/son combo's play together during the first round (Bobby/Zach and Rob/Chris). Zack and Dillon played a close battle for Jr's. Dillon won the bike but immediately donated it to Zack (cool). The Hernandez bros cleaned up in rec (I think). Dane Nail and Mark Ruggles tied for first in Int and had a sudden death playoff that went for three holes....Dane gets a win. Advanced was taken by Chris, followed by Albert. Albert, by the way, coordinated the best food at any tournament anywhere. Carrino's food was seved between rounds. I won Adv Masters, but was pushed hard again by Vicente, Steve Fox, Frank White, and Rob. Marcus had a 'smokin' first round and won over Kyle Norrid in Open. No aces were hit during the 54 holes of play...we had a CTP playoff (can't remember who won those). Many, many raffle prizes were given out. Sherri did a great job. Abilene is next weekend (June 23/24). Locally, the BAB is coming in October and we'll continue to have apx monthly glow nights along with the twice weekly mini's.

Glad to see the event went well!! I hated to miss it, but I have had jury duty the last 2 weeks and got behind on my Wild Hair preparations...maybe next year.
The Wild Hair is this coming weekend! If you plan on coming, try to sign up on Friday if at all possible. Its way easier on the staff and you will be sure to get a spot. I say that because I have a funny feeling I might be turning people away Saturday morning. We will see.....
