SpeakerBear and I played the new layout for the first time, yesterday. The B-pins are much more challenging than I anticipated! Mike and I played our practice round from the blue tees and our scores are posted above. We understand par is 61 for this 950-rated design and we are assuming the par 4 holes are 1, 4, 7, 12 and 18. Hole 14 is either a par 4 or 5. The pine tree hallway (a.k.a. Hole 15) now has a longer pin placement and is arguably the most difficult (and frustrating) par-3 on the course. North Carolinians would step on this tee and say "Wow...that's a tight fairway!"

The B-pin layout is fitting to contest the Pennsylvania State Championships as there is lots of risk and reward incorporated into this new configuration. It was obvious the IDLA has done a lot of work on the course including leveling and back-filling tee boxes (i.e. Holes 3 & 11). Thanks to all the volunteers who are making this course come together. In fact, we saw Michael D. out there yesterday afternoon with a rake and shovel in hand! This weekend's event is going to be awesome because of you folks! :)

Jerry, is there a new longer pin position on hole#16? If so, does it make the hole a little bit harder? Because of the severe dogleg on that hole, playing from the long tee and to a longer pin position I could see this hole averaging greater than 3.5.

I'll answer your question "Steeler Man" - we put #16 B pin just inside the woods line on the left side of the fairway. It only adds about 20-30 feet in length but, if you don't place you up-shot in the right position you might have some trees blocking your putt. From the Blue tee, it's going to be a challege to par this hole.

As Kurt posted, the 16 b-pin is just inside the trees on the left. Not very far inside the tree line, I might add. From the blue tee, I played a RHBH roller that made the turn and ended up halfway down the fairway (past the dogleg). It was an easy up and down from there to get the three. I suspect any blue-tee deuces will come from lefties who power a backhand past the bend.
