Brian Mace is going to be in town on Tuesday, April 3, 2007, to conduct a MaceMan Doubles event.
Here is what information I have from Brian so far:
"Mace Man doubles is random draw doubles with a pro/am split. These events accomplish many things but the main goal of the event is to eliminate the intimidation factor that comes with being a new player. New players, as I am sure you are aware, think that they aren't good enough to play tournaments or interact with "the good players". Because they are new and not so skilled they feel like they don't have a chance. This is where the pro/am split comes in. This means that a pro or advanced player will get a partner that is at the beginner to intermediate level. This opens the door to the new player. It introduces them to the experienced players, the people that organize events in the area, as well as the players that can give a variety of advice including pointing them in the right direction for equipment. In short it gives them an opportunity to join your group of local players.
The entry fee for this event is $10 and pays back 100%. The payout is in Mace Man merch. This gives me an opportunity to get out and in front of the players in your area."
Mace has a lot of excellent disc golf merchandise, as well as a wide array of PLASTIC!
