Random Beaver Round Up III.

Everything is place for 3rd installment of the Random Beaver Round Up. This is a very fun and unique event where you bring a partner and play doubles at a short and relatively easy course. The first round you play best shot with your partner off the long tees at Crystal Lake Park. The third round you will play modified worst shot off the short tee pads. We add up those two sets of scores and crown champions in each division.

You may have noticed I said first and third rounds. Well, between those two rounds you ditch your partner and we play a round of random draw doubles with everyone mixed into the same pool. We have a separate payout for the top 1/3 of the teams from that round as well. So basically you are playing two rounds of bring your partner doubles and one separate round of random draw in between those. Lots of fun! As always, more information can be found on Take Flight Today (http://www.takeflighttoday.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=133).

Let's review:

Where: Crystal Lake Park in Beaver Dam, WI (http://www.pdga.com/course/courses_by_city.php?id=904)
When: Saturday, January 13th, 2007
How: Register online or via snail mail
Why: Super short and fun course with a very unique format

The past 2 years we have seen an average of about 40 to 50 players. I already have a couple of teams pre-registered for this year so don't delay! The extended forecast even looks great for this event!

The Beaver Dam Subway is on board as a sponsor! A lunch special plus a little more on top of that!

Also, I am over 20 people for this event already. Lots of Am Teams and a few pro teams. We have one women's team and I'd love to see at least one more.

You can even drop your check in the mail as late as tomorrow and it will likely get to me in time. Thank you to everyone that has pre-registered. It helps out tremendously.

Sorry, correction - I'm up to over 30 people already for the event. Glad to see us almost match last year's total!

Hey guys! I'm heading out to Beaver Dam right now. Looks like no precipitation but some chilly temps. With over 30 people planning to come it should be a great time.

I'll post an update sometimes afterward.

Sweet tourney as always! Ran smooth as silk. I always knew I would get my first tournament victory in doubles. Need someone else's help. Thanks Phill! Hope everyone made it home safe. Roads were pretty terrible in spots. Hopefully see everyone in Madtown next weekend.

Thanks for the kind words Eric. 2007 Results (http://www.lifetimediscsports.com/events/RandomBeaverRoundUpIIIPre-Registered.pdf) are posted.

I think this year was the largest turnout yet. We always have somewhere around 30 or so for this event so it was great to have 38 people out there.

Amazing - the one ace that was hit all day was by Sarah Korinek. Her first career ace and she did it in modified worst shot. I was about 50 feet away from seeing her practically SKIP IN her very next hole! She aced the partially blind hole 2 during the 3rd round of the event.

Thanks again to all that came out. Plan on a Random Beaver Round Up IV.
