Happy New Year everyone!

I am currently in the process of updating the widiscsports.com (http://www.widiscsports.com) webpage with next year's event schedule.

Last year we had something like 60 events that took place in Wisconsin. That's crazy! We saw growth in both PDGA Sanctioned and Non-Sanctioned events and that's awesome.

Just like the previous 4 or 5 years, the WI Disc Sports website will be your OFFICIAL source for Wisconsin Tour Events. If you get your info from any other website you run the risk of it not being official (or correct).

Like last year, we are putting up all Wisconsin Tour Event information as a perk to being on the Wisconsin Tour. If you have an event you wish to have listed as part of the schedule please contact me immediately. The WDSA Board simply asks for a $25 donation to be made to the "Wisconsin Disc Sports Development Fund" if you wish to have your event included on the website.

Last year the website listing agreement brought nearly $500 to the Development Fund! That's 1 brand new basket donated to a course somewhere within Wisconsin. What a great deal - you get your event listed on the OFFICIAL calendar and on top if it your small fee of $25 goes directly back into new WI courses!

I should have the most up to date schedule posted to the website within a few days. Please remain patient. Organizing this quantity of events is certainly one of my toughest State Coordinator tasks.

Thanks again - Terry "T-Dogg" Miller

Any plans for a Wisconsin Tour Warm-Up again?

Serg, interesting you brought that up. I have been contemplating running a Winter Park Warm-Up. We currently have 11 holes. 7 more are going in for 2007 for tournaments (Aug 19th C Tier), and other events like an Ace Race and leagues. My thoughts are twofold -
One, give players a chance to practice the fairly tough course by playing the short and long tees.
Two, gather up comments and suggestions on the 7 holes that await install before they actually get finalized, and work out any kinks.

If it's something that interests any of you, please speak up. We wouldn't have to do it strictly as a tour warm up though. We could organize some cash doubles or something on any of the non-scheduled weekends of April or May.

Terry, I'll be sending you a check for $25 for the basket fund and schedule, PM me with an address.

Yes,

There are plans for the Wisconsin Tour Warm Up again this year. I'm working to figure out which date will work the best. I am also still trying to decide if we should split the weekend into two days. We'd have pros on one day and ams on another (or something like that).

I'll know more in the next day or two. I'll certainly get it posted asap!

Terry,

Can you say if it will be in Janesville again?

That is currently the plan!

I will be talking to the Janesville people again tomorrow. I'll keep everyone posted on here!

Also, I plan on hosting the Nordic event this spring too! That will be awesome and when those details are secured then I'll be posting those too.

Thanks!

PS - The WI Tour Warm Up will be a split day format to accommodate for everyone.

Has the WI Tour Warm Up moved back into April like the schedule says?

On which day will the Pro/Adv play? Sat or Sun.

As of right now it looks like it will be on April 14/15. The parks department had another conflict so that's why the date moved to the14/15. As soon as I get 100% confirmation from them I'll be posting which divisions will be playing on which days. WI Disc Sports (http://www.widiscsports.com/) will certainly have the CORRECT info and the final details when they are decided.

No conflict with the Fon du Lac Open on that Sunday? Isn't there a distance rule for sanctioned tournaments you have to be concerned with? I probably can't make either one due to scheduling conflicts of my own but I'm just curious.

There would be NO CONFLICT with the Fond Du Lac Open which is scheduled for that weekend. You are right - there is a distance rule and we are far outside of that distance parameter. These two events could certainly co-exist and have a great draw to both. Again, I should know very soon if this is 100%. They have now had me switch dates twice so I'll just keep plugging away.

Whats up T-Dogg,
I will not be able to go to the tour warm up...Andrew's team is going to state that same weekend. I'll use my LDS sponsorship for another day. I appreciate and always accept your sponsorship.
The widiscsports.com web page looks great. Its nice to have what I consider is an official web site for Wisconsin disc sports. I can also say that the Great Lakes Disc Golf Club gladly and will certainly pay for such a complete and accurate schedule. I say this with pride because this is the thread that the GLDGC gets when we sign up with the PDGA through the Club Affiliation program. I also like that it breaks down to about $2 bucks a month, just a good and sound investment for the club. Its also nice because we all get to use this great communication tool, share all kinds of info. plus the club gets to make a little bit of money at the same time. Thanks for getting this all set up for the GLDGC members and for that matter anyone whether there from here or not from can put their thoughts, events or opinions on our thread. I think its great for all of us.
Thanks again for you continued involvement and hard work for all of us in the state of Wisconsin.
Hey look at this, I was going to use this in our next meeting minutes somehow...
